Default Answer for Do Laid Off Guys Get To Vote?

Question: Do Laid off Teamsters get to vote?
    Answer:
You have to be a current dues paying member in order to vote on Union contracts per the IBT Constitution. If you have been laid off less than 30 days and have paid your dues for November, than I think you should.

If you took a withdrawal card upon layoff, you will not be able to.

If you got laid off and did not take a withdrawal card, your membership will be suspended 90 days from your last dues payment

I guess I won't to vote. I would like to tell I have balls the size of a 12 lb bowling ball and would have voted no, but in reality I would have to vote yes, I hope YRCW is around long enough for my kids to have a shot at Solidarity & middle class life, if they so choose it with YRCW.

Actually you should talk to the union attorney because our attorney asked the membership if they would allow the people out on withdrawal card or out on a leave if they would be able to vote. Our membership voted to allow it.

That falls under "cruel and unusual" doesn't it?
