Default Worked or first day after the merger

Well we had our first day after the merger in kc. can you say FUBAR, lol. the guys that came over from roadway have been great, very helpfull! management from roadway, also very helpfull. everything else.......... lol. we had trailers scatered everywhere, no one knew where anything was at. a manager said it showed that we had 800 loads in our yard, we couldnt fit 800 loads in our yard if we double stacked every trailer. i asked him why we didnt just stop for 30 mins, give everyone a pencel and pad and send them out to write down what we do have and where it is? i just got the deer in the headlight look, lol. hopefully by the time i get back to work on wen. they will have things streighten out, a little anyway.

now on a positive note, we are WAY UNDERSTAFED!!!!!!!!!!
i couldnt understand how we were gona do all of the breakbulk from both barns with less ppl then before, after last nite, it aint gona happen! were gona need a lot more help, which meens more guys that are on layoff are gona have to be put back on!!!! good luck to everyone, little d

I think they understaffed for a reason and the predictions that it wouldn't be enough manpower look accurate so far. Using their logic it would be cheaper to call guys back than to have started out with too many. As stated before, they had no idea what to expect on opening day due to the forced and way too short time limit on implementing the COO/Merger. They didn't want to possibly have to pay H&W on anybody they didn't need right away.....so hopefully now a lot of people get called back. I heard it was pretty crazy in St. Louis too.

ya should have seen it in kc stldude. i was told the system crashed several times untill they finly got it to run. we were hookin trailers that wernt there, ect....... i do know this, with our system that we had, we helped each outher, ie; a drop man knew if he was dropin a box that was out for a hook. he would set it up for the next guy. a city hostler would know if a box he was pullin from the dock was gona be hooked and the same, he would set it up for the next guy. we had the info to help each outher, and the co. bennifited. i dont think we will be able to do this now, i hope we can figure a way around it, but so far i dont see it.

YRC day 1 half the city walked due to the weather conditions of icy roads. 135 & CNC shut down so tuesday we'll get the spike to the system everyone should be working for the rest of the week playing catching up. As we all know Monday's dictate how well the operation will run for the week.

You call that a lot of snow? Did you run out and buy a snow blower?
