Have you ever seen a COO Committee, allow employees to retreat to where they came from?

This whole thing with YRC is getting more scarier everyday. I just wonder where Zollars is coming up with all this stuff each day. Something new almost every day..

I can't be 100 % sure, but I'd almost say that is unheard of????

I have never heard of such a thing. But there is a whole lot of things I have never seen happen before that is taking place now.

I don't understand this. As I see it, this will apply to almost no one.

If I understand correctly, to retreat the employee will

    a) have to have been able to get the 40hr/wk at the new terminal in the first weeks after the change

    b) and be able to get the 40hr quarantee now at their old termanl.

Anyone who couldn't get work back then at his/her new terminal will almost certainly not have enough seniority to get work now at their old terminal.

Maybe it will ably to some dock workers. Don't know. But I don't see how it will possible help any linehual drivers.

I think this is just window dressing: an attempt to make it look like they (union and management) are doing something - even though in reality it will do little to help anyone and cost the company nothing.

Could this be an attempt to soften us (and Junior Hoffa) up for bad news (more concessions? say hello to welfare and pension self-pays) coming down the pike?

From what I was told is, many gaining locations were going to be primary to certain places. Men were bidding to these Terminals. In the end some gaining locations were not primary, and over 100 have been laid off in Charlotte (just one place) because of this screw up.

I think what we may see next after these decisions are made is... YRC will then begin closing terminals. They are under no obligation to keep any specific terminals open. By allowing employees an opportunity to retreat back to thier original location this is a "choice" of thier own. Those who do decide to take advantage of this opportunity will dovetail, keeping thier seniority at the location they return to however they are guarranteed nothing from where they are coming from. Where you are after May 15th is where you remain ! If YRC would then start closing terminals and you happen to be affected, then so be it ! I do not believe we will see YRC closing down completely and disappearing, however, I do think we will see them become a much, much smaller company. This all seems like the perfect set up to make that happen. While some people will lose, as many already have and not by "choice" , the ones that lose after May 15th will have lost by thier own "choice".
