There's a lot of truth in this post! Although the freight has picked-up, I don't see this as job security for LTL union employees. YRC is starting to work on enforcing company policies. They are getting ready for highter production needs by employees. Again, more for less. Get more work with less employees. Does this save jobs, tirechanger? Where will the laid-off employees find jobs? Who will help them? You?

This guy skews the facts when he equates YRC's nearly $2 billion in losses over the last two years to "burning through cash". I believe the truth is that approximately $1.5 billion of those losses were writedowns on the value of the Roadway and USF, which have nothing to do with cash.

I really hope ABF buys USF and New Penn, we were both very good and profitable companys before yellow got their hooks into both of us. I started out with Yellow but was always on lay off. So I went to Preston and well you know Yellow just slowly killed us. Now I am at USF Holland and Yellow is doing the same thing to us. I thought in 1999 I got hired at my last teamster jobs and getting away from Yellow, once and for all.

Every thing Yellow touches turns to SH**! Now they are in the process of putting themself out! They have no family values! They only use the companies they buy to eliminate their competition! My personal belief is that they buy up union carriers and bankrupt them so they can remove the union from freight. This is why we need to get the EFCA passed and the union needs to organize more freight companies!! OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON IT!

schakey; I'm with you!! First we need to organize USF Glen More and YRC Logistics then move on to Con-way, ESTS Express,Pitt Ohio Express, CSX Transportation and Averitt Express!!!!!! This would be a good start! The contracts should include Teamsters H&W and Pension Funds as the first choice. This is change our Teamsters Union NEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

They've been Teamsters in Kansas City for some time now. They're in Local 955.
