Default Does every terminal have 2 managers?

Since the merger last March in Seattle there have been two terminal managers. Other positions are doubled also, ops manager, and city. What is up with that? Seattle is down to 80 city drivers and have a double management staff. There is a lot of wages there going to waste.

YRC in many cases is still way overstaffed at the terminal mgmt. level. Yep, it would save a bunch if they got rid of 'some of their own' but I doubt if it would create a turning point in the bottom line area.

We have a TM, ATM and two city dispatchers, one HR person, one relay dispatcher, and I know of two dock supers.

City board is down to 30 men, dock has 14, and the yard has two. About the road, I am not sure, I think about 10 to 15 men. Do you think they have to many here at 671?

I've never worked at an end of line terminal so it's hard for me to judge....but I don't know why they need an HR person for that many employees. At the STL/621 break I worked at when an HR issue became bad enough to need attention our HR lady came down from Chicago where she was based. Before her we had one based in KC. At one time we probably had 650 total employees and never had an HR person based there.

WowAnd I thought our term was over managedNow here is a question for you,how many of your management team have intelligence or seem to know what they are doingIt seems to me if they wanted to save some money they would reduce some of the office staff as it seems we still have almost the same as when we doing almost twice the business

I never really got to know the Roadway team, I was laid off before they moved in. As for Yellow management, they are always doing everything the hard way. Always trying to make things more dificult. Last year they were handing out letters for any and everything. Anything to get under a Teamsters skin. One guy got fired 2 or 3 times for bs that they knew wouldn't stick. But hey let's waste more of the companies money going into the grievance process. My daughter was having my first grand child and I was told I couldn't have the day off. Just a few examples I could go on and on. This is just our terminal I am sure the story repeats itself across the country. When you have an idiot for a CEO and shareholders keep him in charge, the bar is set pretty low for any managers. Just an opinion.

I have been told in STL they are tripping over each other during the day. Two of everything and the catch is they only need 1 of everthing, at my barn we have 1 opener, 6 p&d, 1 closeout. 8 total, we have 2 supervisors and 1 terminal manager. I would be more positive if I heard somethings were changing, if we are losing 100 mil a month and nothing is changing when will we start making money? I did vote YES, something needs to change. If not, if the vote passes and we still fail then Big Z and his crew will go down as the biggest flunkies ever!!
