Default Estes Express buys YRC site

Estes Express Lines has bought YRC Worldwide, Inc.’s Shelby Drive facility for $4.2 million and plans to relocate within three-four months.

The purchase includes an 88,864-square-foot, 155-door cross-dock truck terminal situated on 46.74 acres at 3914 E. Shelby Drive.
How did this happen, and not get posted here. Shame on me....

Yeah, it's like 4 and 5 lanes on each side in most places now....and they fly like it was I-55.

Don't take this as fact but it is rumored that Estes did purchase terminal 816 here in Salt Lake City. That was the Roadway facility over on California Ave. We moved everyone back to the breakbulk 881 in June. The other building was used to work show freight for a few weeks then sat empty.

I don't think it's sold yet but coming into St. Louis on I-44 sits what was the Roadway terminal with only a few trailers and joe dogs in the barren yard. It's hard to believe the carnage that has taken place.

Here's the real "kick in the pants" about the former MEM terminal... Approx. 3 miles east of the Shelby Drive terminal, on Lamar Ave. (US 78) is a spanking new, state of the art intermodal rail yard that is fast being prepared to go into operation very soon (practically a stone's throw from the Shelby Dr. terminal).

What does YRC do? Of course! They move FARTHER away from it to a less desirable location! The "powers that be" in Memphis finally do something right for a change and YRC runs away from it...

    YES WE CAN???...!!!
