    Default Are you being followed?

We have a guy at our yrc terminal that is up for termination. They claim he was stealing time and claim to have a portable lowjack type of device to track people that can be put on in the morning before the driver gets there. Anyone hear about this or something like this ? It is NOT bringing up the moral in our terminal.

Don't know if this particular story is correct or not but ya gotta know If a Company wants ya bad enough they will spend millions to do it. I know that companies will hire people to follow and time people and take pictures of them ..I've seen this part when I was a steward before I retired. When I drove for Red Star Express I called the cops in New Jersey one night and reported that I was being followed by a strange car that stopped when I stopped and ran what ever speed I was running and that I ran several different roads just to try to get this car off my tail. The cop on the phone after finding out my exact location told me where to go and I did and the cops stopped the car and the cop on the phone told me to continue on that they had it under control.I found out later that it was a safety man following me.I even called the company and told them I was being followed. They acted like they could care less but hey I figured I did my job.

Yes, Insurance spotters like Marcel ( they follow and give reports to the company and even companies they are not hired for). Trying to get new accounts by showing how good they are making trouble for everyone.
Good Luck, It is uncommon for them to give a good report cause then there is no need for them.

They might use something to track with. We had several letters and a termination handed out before the integration. They had some security company following along behind several of our drivers. Now the hand held junk does have GPS but only logs your "location" when you enter information into it. They would have one hell of a time finding me by this method. My route consisted of about 12 stops and 250 miles plus a day. We figured they attached something to the tractor that sent a constant signal. Maybe they just waited at one of the stops and followed after that. Who knows?

Last year we had a 2 man team from corporate that was spotting drivers by using a laptop & GPS. They knew exactly where those drivers were and where they were supposed to be.

Our city driving logs are being done electronicly with the info from the handheld browsers.

The way I understand it when you log something into it....It will give your location. Kind of like connect the dots. Do you get what I mean?

While my husband is laid off from ABF, and driving for a non-union company, he is being tracked in every way possible. His speed, location, idle time, you name it. And if the company likes or doesn't like what they see, he gets emails on a computer in his truck warning him or thanking him, depending on the situation. Welcome to non-union companies!!!

When we Log onto a del.or pick up it tells them what we are doing. But They have to look on different screen to get GPS location on us.But I know by experience that turning off does not make you invisible to gps....But removing battery from radio does..In case you need to be Invisible....
