    Anybody heard about a change of requirements for a leave of absence from YRC .

    Leave of Absence under YRC MOU REVISED

    1. The leave can be granted for a period no longer than beyond the date of 12/31/2010.

    2. The leave will be granted for any reason EXCEPT no leave will be granted to work for a non union competitor.

    3. The minimum length of the leave is 30 days.

    4. Upon returning from a leave, the employee is not eligible for another leave prior to 30 days.

    5. If the employee returns to active status prior to the leaves stated end date, the employees must provide the company with 72 hour notice prior to returning to work.



    The leave of absence will only apply to active employees, represented in a work group or Local that has ratified the MOU. In the event that any employees were denied a leave under the original more restrictives conditions because his new employer did not contribute to a Teamster Pension Fund, the local union or employee may contact YRC Human Resources or Labor Department to obtain a leave request form.

    Currently in the Maybrook facility there are many mechanics who want to take a leave of absence. The truth is most of us have other jobs or have found other employment. Can you provide me with some type of link with a letter head from the teamsters so I can print this out? Currently we are having a difficult time trying to take leaves. YRC is saying there is not enough mechanics.

    I won't have a copy until Saturday, but you should be able to get a copy from your local. Most of the terminals have this hanging on the boards. Someone may get a copy faster than I will, anyone? It is dated Oct 8, 2009. From Tyson Johnson. RE: Leave of Absence Under YRC MOU.

    Were talking about the one that just came out that states you can work anywhere ,pension or no pension as long as its not a non union compeditor.

    So if your Laid off and get a job at a USA Truck US Xpress or WERNER and get called back to a YRC Company can you get a Leave of Absence till the end of year? I know their not union but im thinking of taking the plunge on the road . Tired of the jerking around getting called back for 2 weeks and getting laid back off. Id rather go on road with a OTR Carrier till Dec 31 and have a steady income.

    Yes. They're not non-union LTL competition
