    Default Scanning Cellphones?

I had a driver inform me that the management/dispatchers in St. Paul, MN were asking for driver's cellphones and then scanning them at the dispatch window upon arrival. Is there anyone else aware of this action taking place?

That'll be the day! I don't even let them check my personal belongings on the way out the gate, if they don't like it they can fire me. One time they wanted our cell numbers, nope!!!

He also mentioned that the dispatcher wanted to see his logbook, too.

    Cell Phone Tracking

"The popularity of employing tracking through cell phones has also increased with advancements in technology and is now the most common form of employee tracking. There is no current law regarding employers using this technology to track their employees."

SIM Change Notification – receive SMS when the SIM is changed.
(anotherwords if you change your cell number after it was scanned)

Cell Tracking – See the Cell Name and Cell ID
SMS Logging – Read the contents of all incoming and outgoing SMS

My guess this is the way to make sure drivers aren't violating the new law that's in place for truck drivers, now.

My advice, don't ever give them your personal cell phone. I would also change my cell phone number, and buy another cell phone to be used for work, only. Let them scan that one if they want, then after receiving a work call from your new mobile work phone, remove the battery from it.

However, the company can still track you with the RFID Tag that is placed on the back-side of your company ID. Does this look familiar to anyone?

At least they won't be able to listen on your phone conversations, and have access to other information listed in your personal mobile phone.

if you are near a FedEx freight truck, and you start searching on your cell phone for a Bluetooth device, you will get that tractor number on your cell phone.
It made me wonder if FedEx Corporate was able to tap into our cell phones.
Just try it next time you're next to a FedEx Freight truck, then delete it off your phone.

If you look at the right side, attached to the fuel tank, you'll notice a small object with a wire attached. I looked at one today parked alongside of me while taking a break and thought it was some type of transponder device.
