This is an audio link and it took a few minutes for my computer to load but I found it to be an interesting interview.

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
Welch talked to Bloomberg's Kathleen Hays and Vonnie Quinn on "The Hays Advantage" on Bloomberg Radio on April 4, 2012.
Audio download here of Welch and Kathleen.

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
Thought it was interesting that Welch wanted to talk and explain why the company has done so bad. Certainly Zollar's poor business decisions caused most, if not all of the problems. Welch wants to change the direction of YRC back to a "trucking" company and that is positive from a business standpoint.
I would have liked to hear more from Welch.

It's good to here from someone who believes in getting back to the basics. Both Roadway and Yellow were money-making machines at one time, and there is no reason that we can't do it again as the economy gets stronger.

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
I'm all for getting back to basics, I like the way things are shaping up for me in my run (less work), haven't had a resi in weeks or any of the bs freight, just regular good old fashioned HD freight that fills up your trailer and gets me back in on time
That being said what is this going to do to the bottom line? We still have insurmountable debt, have shrunk to half what we once were when we were making $$, we are still downsizing, still in survival mode, still profit
It's been 3 years and they just keep rearranging the shells, we still have 3 more years of this crap too
What would really convince me that things are changing is if we got some of what was taken away coming back but until then we just have a job

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
It is scary when they start talking pension! Will they be able to start putting back in 100% or are they goin g to come up with another way to scam the working man. Our equipment is falling apart and they are going to have to address this also sooner or later. Seems like they are going to need a lot of money in the future besides paying loan payments for debt.

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
The yrc regional dip-sh!t came by our terminal and I asked about equipment, his answer was that everything will be retrofitted (meaning we're not getting new stuff) at a cost of $16,000 a tractor
I know they had 1100 tractors set to come to us (yrc), the dip-sh!t accidently let this out, but PO got changed to go to Reddaway instead, makes you wonder don't it?

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
Ever see the antiquated junk that Reddaway has ? I wouldn't put too much into what any shirt has to say about equipment. Those decisions seem to change every week. New Penn was supposed to get equipment, much needed screws, but so far we are pressing old city junk back into road use.

Re: YRC's Welch Says Bad Decisions Brought Down Stock Price
I would like to see that too. How about honoring the snap-back clause for the Teamsters. IMO, that would be a good way to start all over again. Because, the original contract and vote was with YRC Worldwide, not YRC Freight. Besides, the management who negotiated the contract with the IBT, a few years back, is no longer with the company. Plus, it would restore the faith back into the Teamsters and the company's success.
