Default An e-mail from a friend

This is from a friend on another forum as I was given an OK to pass it along..

    TEAMSTERBrothers and Sisters, Dec2013
Recently, union employees ofYRCW, have been asked to contribute for longer than the original
concessions that had been agreed to by us in 2015. Theywant to continue paybacks until 2019. After
watching the recent video (that the company spent a small fortune on mailing out to each employee), a
company officer said, "that's B, Billion", in reference to the 1.4 billion dollars ofYRCW debt. I have
decided to spell it out for those of us, who may not have a good grip on what we've already done for them.
We give back 15% of our pay, a week's vacation and 75% of our pensions. For starters, in a ten year
period, you have worked a year and a half for free. You have worked a decade for 2 Vz years of pension. Now
that alone is generous, but let me give you some factual numbers, since they are so fond of throwing their
    ~ebt numbers at us.
Between linehaul, city and dockworkers, I calculated a very conservative average yearly wage of
$65,000.00 gross. That comes to $9,750 give back on payroll on average, per union employee. Multiply
    that by 26,000 union employees ( 65,000 x .15= 9,750 9,750 x 26,000= $253,500,000) That means per
year, conservatively, we give back $253,500,000 on payroll alone. We give back a week's vacation.
Calculated conservatively at only $750. (which is actually about 300. Less) multiplied by 26,000 is
$19,500,000 a year. A pension of $63.00 a day, multiplied by 260 (actual working days), and again,
multiplied by 26,000 is $425,880,000 a year. This is a yearly total of (all 3) of $ 698,880,000.
Overthe fIVeyear term of our contract, this is a total of $3,494,400,000.00. That's 3.5 BILLION DOLLARS!!
NOW,they want you to agree to this until 2019. That is $2,795,520,000 more. For a whopping grand total
of $ 6,289,920,000. That is 6.3 BILLION DOLLARS!!!!
And they claim that their 1.4 billion in debt is killing them?

YRCW,are like spoiled children around the candy dish. The ONLYway to stop them from lying to you, and
continuing to steal and eat your candy, is to put the dish out of their reach, and tell them no more!
    YOUMUSTVOTENO!!!!!
Take this notice with you, and give it freely all over this country. Pass it to fellow YRCWemployees. Give it to
them at stops. Hand one off at every terminal you visit. Throw them in loads headed to other terminals.
DONOTtake this lying down!!! There is a lot of talk about what the union has and has not done for us.
The bottom line is, THEUNIONIS ONLYAS STRONGAS IT'S MEMBERSARE! WEMUSTPUTA STOPTOTHIS!

So what I've garnered from all the post in recent days and hope everyone takes this into consideration is Welchers and his merry band of Idiots have no plan or Idea how to run a successful and profitable company, like most corporation today the easiest target to go after is labor cost,H&W,Pension and vacation time, now I would feel better about sacrificing more for the good of our company if we knew there was a solid plan in place to do this, all we hear is noise, blah, blah blah, read something in the proposal regarding management equitable sacrifice so if you are sincere Mr Welch why don't you and management step up and forgo all bonus money till debts paid,do that and guaranteed you will get your"Yes" vote!

I see it like this. They will not tell us what they did with the money they received. But the more they get the less they have to do their jobs. Bonus or not, I say no. It's all bull****. The banks want 11% for ever. The perfect customer. They are mainly retirement funds and if you can get 11 % on your money, That is considered good. Go to your teamster 401k plan and see what return you are getting on your money. Are you getting 11 % a year. If so tell me which one it is right away so I can move my money into that fund! Bottom line is they believe we are a bunch or illiterate hillbillies who they can lie to and manipulate . Meanwhile they get raises and bonuses for performance, What performance? Fooling us to give them back what we bargained for all these years. They are being paid to take money from us, Not earn it in business from the customers . Vote NO , they can negotiate in good faith. When we signed that last contract they had to have an approved plan that wasn't impossible to achieve. I didn't hear a peep about how things weren't working out, till they wanted more money.. So they had plenty of business, they didn't want to hire anyone so it wasn't driver shortage. It is all manufactured bull**** !

Exactly my point, they obviously have no clue or plan how to right the ship but they do know how to ask us to keep bailing more water out to keep it afloat, maybe they should sign up for evening business classes at there local community college.I was shown in 5th grade how to balance a checkbook but obviously they missed class that day.

I wonder what the total income of all 4 or 5 top dogs of NP USF and YRC is?

I bet they could make the first payment and give us time to negotiate proposals and bargain. But they wont and will walk away wealthy and probably get jobs which pay well despite the fact that we sink.....for the name of the game is control/sink the NMFA and its numbers.

When the unions are all gone and nobody looks out for thr American worker, I hope they feel good about what they done, because all they did was destroy what was once the greatest country in the world.

All of our competitors are in debt to the banks too accprding to a chart they gave.....when this goes down and we're out of the way the financers who pulled this off will totally destroy the pay and working conditions and we will probablly need bullet proof vests to go to work with the constantlly disgruntled.

    GOOD JOB Wall Street.
YA DESTROY THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. GLAD YA USED YOUR FREEDOM AND LIBERTY SO WISELLY FOR SO FEW.
