Question usf glenn moore hauling our freight???

does anyone know why usf glenn moore, non union, is allowed to go into yellow terminals and pull out our trailers and freight? been seeing it alot more since the new contract went into effect. I drive sleeper out of stp and sit at home 3-4 days a week then I see them pulling our freight both ways!

kahonas, to Teamstersonline.com. The increase you are seeing is due to the "shiny wheels" provision in the NMFA, that allows for the freight to be hauled by outside contracts, also called purchase power. I believe it starts out at 9%, and will rise to 15% by the end of the contract. YRC very quickly implemented this agreement to save loads of money. GlenMoore also is coincidently hiring like gangbusters in KC. I can't remember the rough math I did a long time ago, but it's millions of union miles allegedly voted away by the members of the NMFA. As you can see, I'm not totally convinced on the outcome of that vote, considering the thousands of non-master freight teamsters that received ballots to vote on that contract.

i've been told by many, that's the 4% that the union & co.'s agreed to be taken off the rail. that frt. is gonna be hauled by the "preferred carrier" which is USF Glen Moore. this is the part of the contract, some would say the whole contract, that sucks for most if not all roadmen. now is that really "rail frt." ? no one really knows. the ones that have knowledge of this will never tell.

I have heard rumors that Glen Moore went union by management's choice, here about a month ago. it had do do with entering and working on master freight terminals, but i have not been able to officially confirm any of this! Good luck guys the new master freight agreement really gives the drivers the big yellow bone!

I've been keeping an eye on USF Glenmoore and writing down the trailer numbers of Yellow pups that I've seen them hauling and so far everyone has been rail or empty. Rumor has it, they are supposed to show their union cards when they come into the CGB terminal. I can't verify that this is happening.

Welcome, to the board glad you are here!!!!

I was talking with a Glen Moore driver in the PDX Reddaway term. I asked him when they where going union and he stated that he thought it was just posturing and that it would never happen in his opinion.
