  • Southwest wants concessions

I believe Southwest Airlines does have some Teamsters in various positions. I don't know if they have approached the Teamsters over concessions ( discussions ), but the story does mention a couple different unions involved.
Also worth nothing the airline has received federal aid from the stimulus bill and are required to maintain staff until September.

Southwest Airlines wants contract concessions from workers after getting federal aid, unions say
Southwest Airlines is talking with union members about contract changes to lower its expenses after the Dallas-based airline’s $3.2 billion in government aid runs out later this year.
A Southwest Airlines executive confirmed that the company has begun discussions with unions representing more than 50,000 workers, and those talks center around lowering costs if the COVID-19 pandemic continues to decimate air travel into fall, said vice president of labor relations Russell McCrady.
“We haven’t had layoffs or furloughs here in 49 years, and we want to make sure that continues,” McCrady said. "We are looking at what happens should the industry not recover, the economy not recover.”
While McCrady was careful to say the airline hasn’t asked for concessions, unions are interpreting the latest discussions that way. Unions say they’re wary of concessions that don’t address the fundamental problem — Southwest has far more workers than it needs to run a much smaller operation.
The company has about 62,000 employees, including 10,000 in Dallas. Meanwhile, air travel in the U.S. is less than 5% what it was a year ago.
All discussions to this point are about what happens after Sept. 30. Southwest has already taken steps to reduce payroll through voluntary time off programs that preserve benefits and some level of pay.
