Dispatcher wont recognize my seniority
We have a bottom feeder that turned the dispatcher against me. "SHE" gives him the choice of runs and all overtime. Any suggestions on how too deal with her. I tried the nice guy scene, not working ,this guy has her in his back pocket. The Teamsters Local will not help me.

If you're the senior driver then you should get the choice.

Re: Dispatcher wont recognize my seniority
Thanks for the reply drivers, your the first to say anything. Everytime I went to file a grievance, management said I`m wasting my time. My Local wont help me either. Years ago, I had to wait in line to get a run, always sent home early. The dispatcher has a buddy, and he has a gambling problem, and must have the money to gamble, so he has to have the overtime, and ALL of it. He once threatened me in the parking lot. I declined to do anything, in fear of losing my job. He is 6`5, over 300lbs. I have no intentions on fighting anyone, im almost 60 years old, and not a fighter.
So, I don't know what to do.

Tough situation brother. But I would let the grievance machinery do its job. File on a seniority violation and let the panel decide. If this guy keeps threatening you and you are in fear of your well being, I would contact your local and let you BA know this puke face is trying to harm you. Take it to the hall and let them handle his sorry selfish ass.

Re: Dispatcher wont recognize my seniority
File a grievance every time and send it ,return receipt requested. If your local ignores you can get in touch with the Teamster Freight Director and usually one call fixes most problems.

In fear for your life? Use your cellphone and press record, document all actions. It is not wiretapping if someone threatens your life with the attempt of cause any physical bodily harm. Is your company familiar with the laws surrounding aggravated harassment?

Re: Dispatcher wont recognize my seniority
The day this happen, I called management and made a report. They done nothing. This person, also one time, I went to the doctor, and left the doctors report folded on the dispatchers desk, He walked over there and opened it and started to read it. I caught him doing it and yelled at him to put it down. I then called management and They done nothing.

Re: Dispatcher wont recognize my seniority
a contract may specify that overtime has to be distributed by seniority. If overtime is given to an employee with less seniority than others, the members with greater seniority may have a grievance.
Still no help, dispatcher and her buddy, rule the board, but he has no seniority. He is now taking stops and runs from new drivers.
