(WASHINGTON) – The following is the official statement of Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa on President Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court.

“The President has made a strong choice for our next U.S. Supreme Court justice. Judge Garland is a highly experienced, well-qualified nominee, and a good choice for working families.

“Now that President Obama has made his choice for the nominee, Congress must not delay in doing its job and moving forward on the nomination. Our next Supreme Court justice deserves a full hearing and a vote in a timely manner.

I believe that congress should have the hearings on this.. They are only embarrassing themselves like a bunch of school buddies.. If they don't like him then vote no.. But this is something that has been done for ages and it will never change.. You have four conservatives and four liberals on the bench right now and both parties want to make sure their guy gets in..
