Because nobody votes them out or runs against them... and they only care about their career pensions and benefits...if people were smart they would demand term limits and not give pensions for 4 year service if that was the number we came up with.

Yes, I do think this amendment would have gotten some traction if presented as a stand alone bill. The proof is
the fact that they tacked it on as an amendment, because they knew it would not stand alone.
It would not stand alone because it was not about Teamster pensions, but screwed all the MEPFs.
