I believe it was the federal government that failed on his background check.. He slipped through the cracks so to speak.. He also made a few trips to Saudi Arabia and another Middle Eastern country.. Worked as a security guard for a company that did work for the US government.. Although their were complaints made about his behavior on the job,nothing was done about it allegedly because he was a Muslim..Maybe a bit of political correctness.. As far as the two in San Bernardino being American,the guy was but his bride was either from Pakistan or Saudi Arabia..
As far as the gun problem goes I believe they should make it harder to get certain guns.This guy wanted to buy body armor the same time he bought the gun.. Maybe that should have thrown up the red flags but it didn't.Like it was said on TV.. The guy fell through the cracks..
