Comprehension skills are lacking ?
Why do prices ever go up ?
Or do you attribute all price increases to taxes ?

So there is no competition in america?
corporations can raise prices at will.
That is how it works in a socialist country until the markets cannot deliver
Here an Idea, go read it yourself then let those comprehension skills to work

From what I understand any so called tax on any import will be the difference of what it would have had it made here compared to making it in let's say Mexico.. So let's say it costs an item a hundred to make it here and you can have it made in Mexico for forty then the tarriffs on that would be sixty. Then add in shipping and customs costs then in reality it would be cheaper to make it here.. Companies like Carrier move to Mexico not so they can reduce prices but to add to the bottom line.. Those savings are never passed on..
Flat tax would eliminate all the tax deductions .. Some corporations pay next to nothing because of all the loopholes.. Others that cannot hire the good tax people pay through the nose..

strappy ... let me explain this in a way you might be able to wrap your head around.
As crazy said, "some corporations pay next to nothing because of all the loopholes, others that cannot hire the good tax people pay through the nose", so what effective tax cost would they eliminate before adding that magical 23% flat tax ?
Some, little, nothing, or the stated corporate tax rate ?
As for tariffs, I believe they are set for certain items and it's a very complex issue.
For instance, the Harley Davidson requested tariff, to help the company survive, was for for certain size ( under 700cc ) bikes. So what did the Japanese manufacturers do ?
They built bikes of 699cc and imported the crap out of them and flooded our shores.
You'll never win the corporate game. Those people are highly educated, know every law book in the world and can mutilate the system better then the politicians in Washington.
And you think your ideas, as an educated ( or uneducated ... take your pick ) truck driver are better ?

Re: Obama final globalist push...
The investor likes when his stock price is high.
If the price is high it must be good.
Investors hold power with their high prices.
If the tariff raises prices most probably our power will increase.
It may be a very good regulator in the wage gap.
Income tax was created to take the place of tariffs.
I think I read that the tariff covered the whole federal budget for the first 100 years.
I think our debt is too high to replace income tax with tariff right now....but with all the import reliance...I'd say tariffs would start knocking holes in the debt.
If the importers want to get around the tariff they'd have to build here. That will sell land and buildings, build buildings, sell building materials, employ builders...and then employ manufacturers.
Those can be organized. The unemployment problem decreases. The welfare problem decreases. Lower taxes needed for joblessness...and those employees can pay taxes and buy homes..
I see nothing but winning with tariffs.
We've had cheap foreign imports for 40 years.....what has it done?

All the embedded tax that goes into making a product such as a car. Everyone that produces good and services pay tax. All of these taxes are embedded in the products final price, about 23%. These are removed as no taxes are collected until point of sale.

So your saying all corporate producers and service providers would lower their products prices by 23% ?
Sure they will.
You still didn't explain how a corporation ( or producer of products, services ) defines what they pay in taxes ?
First thing they would argue is the overall average paid tax rate ... which is 12.6%.
Then you have those that pay nothing.
Larger corporations were more likely to owe tax. Among large corporations ( generally those with at least $10 million in assets) less than half —42.3 percent—paid no federal income tax in 2012. Of those large corporations whose financial statements reported a profit, 19.5 percent paid no
federal income tax that year.
