Federal anti-corruption officials have charged Hoffa’s running mate Ken Hall with obstructing investigations into corruption by hiding and destroying thousands of documents and emails.

The charges against Hall will likely result in his expulsion from the Teamsters.

Anti-corruption officers are investigating embezzlement, bid-rigging in benefit plans, illegal employer gifts, and other corruption by top Hoffa-Hall administration officials.

Corruption investigators noted Ken Hall’s “unusual tolerance” for repeated embezzlement by the Teamsters Political Director Nicole Brener-Schmitz. Now she faces corruption charges and Ken Hall faces questions about why he let it happen.

Ken Hall’s bad streak continues. Last week, he was hit with charges for obstructing corruption investigations.

Now, the Independent Investigations Officer has issued charges, alleging that Hall looked the other way while the IBT Political Director embezzled union funds.

On November 9, the Independent Investigations Officer (IIO) issued a 72-page report, charging Nicole Brener-Schmitz with embezzlement, racketeering, illegal loans from the union, and getting a $4,000 payment from an organization that got $875,000 in DRIVE political action funds.
