Teamsters Call on Lawmakers to Prioritize Workers in Self-Driving Discussion

(WASHINGTON) – The Teamsters Union is calling for any federal legislation regarding ‘self-driving’ technology to take into account public safety and the millions of working Americans employed in transportation and related industries.

At a public hearing on Capitol Hill today, House lawmakers discussed 14 pieces of draft legislation on self-driving vehicles. The bills could be combined into a final package for introduction in the 115th Congress.

The Teamsters Union has been closely monitoring all aspects of the technology, urging lawmakers to prioritize safety and transparency in rules concerning the testing phase of self-driving vehicles. The union is calling for comprehensive federal rules regulating autonomous vehicles, including strong minimum safety standards. Under any such legislation, states and cities should retain their authority to regulate the safe operations of vehicles.

Yes from what I've heard from most of the news hosts, commentators, and political analysts on FOX. Which bye the way is the only real news source according to the White House. The only liberal that I know of on FOX is Juan Williams. But he always seems to be out numbered and shouted down by the overwhelming majority of conservatives on the panels. That doesn't appear to be fair and balanced to me.

Can you blame Trump for liking FOXNEWS?? Every other cable and news outlets has it in for Trump.. He has been bitching about all the fake news and slowly it is coming to light that he has been correct.. CNN is in a meltdown..

I only watch FOX to see how biased they really are. In the morning I switch between CNN and MSNBC. I think they have a more balanced panel discussing the issues of the day. I think Cuomo does a good job. I don't like Scarborough but at least he has opposing views from his panel. FOX usually has some right wing shill who feeds to the 3 host's obvious political bias.

I don't want to hear a one sided view of the issue. I want to hear opposing opinions so I can make up my own mind. I usually can't get both sides of the issues from FOX.
