  • UPS driver killed

I am sure most have heard of this tragic story. Condolences to the families who lost loved ones. Will the violence ever end ?

4 killed in shootout following theft of UPS truck in Florida
Two suspects and two civilians died in Florida on Thursday after an attempted robbery led to the theft of a UPS truck and a shootout with police. The two suspects, police said, then carjacked a UPS truck, holding the driver hostage during police pursuit.
The driver was among those killed, along with an innocent bystander at the scene of the shootout.
The two suspects died in a firefight with police. It's unclear how the truck driver and bystander were killed -- whether it was gunfire from the suspects or if they were caught in the crossfire with police.

Innocent motorist caught in Miramar shootout crossfire was union rep Rick Cutshaw

The innocent bystander killed in the crossfire between police and jewelry store robbers in Miramar has been identified as Richard “Rick” Cutshaw, a 70-year-old union representative from Pembroke Pines.

The Broward County medical examiner’s office confirmed Cutshaw was one of the victims in the shooting. Don Slesnick, a lawyer for the union where Cutshaw worked, said Cutshaw had just left his office in Miramar before being killed.
          RIP, Brother.

            RIP, Brother.
All we hear is how violent Albuquerque has become (and it has) but clearly violence is spreading all over the country and becoming the new norm. So sad.

I can only hope this is true. It would show UPS has a heart.

National UPSers moment of silence for Frank Ordonez today (12/9/19) at 17:00 EST
I can't confirm the authenticity of this but either way I think it's a good thing. Slow down and just think about our fallen brother.
I know I'm just as guilty as the worst of us to be so selfish and angry and impatient and frustrated and ungrateful. Thought this would be a good time to reflect on Frank Ordonez and what he left behind.

General President Hoffa's Statement on Death of UPS Member Frank Ordonez
General President Jim Hoffa issued the following statement on the tragic death of Teamsters Local 769 member Frank Ordonez in Miami this week:

“The thoughts and prayers of the 1.4 million members of the Teamsters Union are with Brother Ordonez’s family, friends, colleagues and fellow Local 769 members. Teamster members go to work each day planning to return home safe to their friends and families and we are deeply saddened when a tragedy such as this occurs. Our union is strong because of the ties that bind us as brothers and sisters at work, and also as a family. When one of us suffers, we all suffer. We pledge to do all we can to assist the family of Brother Ordonez."
