Now I have an ideology?? Yes I lean to the right because the left has gone off the cliff.. And you?? you lean to the left but I wouldn't call it your ideology but I think you can see what has happened over the last five or so years.. The Democrats stole the election from Trump as they did twice with the primaries from Bernie Sanders.. As far as what sites to read and follow?? Depends on what way you lean.. My sister in law has CNN on whenever she is home. {She works in the local high school} that should tell me what way she leans and to this day she has not forgotten that my wife and I voted for Trump.. I don't personally watch much news anymore .. Tired of the one sided bullshit.. Actually tired of all the bullshit.. More concerned on how long it will be before my pension gets fixed..
    Republicans helped the Democrats.

''bleeding America dry?''....Your just figuring all this out now Kid?...it's been going on for decades and I'm sick of talking about it...What we need are solutions, working class solutions, any ideas brother?...

How about this one...It's about narrative, and the creation of a positive narrative that does not subscribe to the world view that supports corporate power...For me this is a working class world view that embraces complexity, community, and a 'bottom up' structure where the power rests at the local level, and as you go up it is about facilitating co-operation between working class localities...

This is a world view that is modeled after ecological working class communities, and NOT 'machines' that can be 'commanded, corrupted and controlled'...Look at it this way,a forest has NO King, and while the forest interacts with the lake, the 'deer lobby' doesn't get to dictate to the fish...

Yes Wizard it was an interesting article to say the least.. But I can say I have seen other liberal sites also calling out Biden.. Now back to my sister in law.. living right on the Delaware, last year she would be calling out all those "City People" coming up here for their rafting trips for not wearing masks.. So far this year she has been quiet about it but school gets out this week and she will be enjoying her extended summer vacation.. Funny how politics can divide a family ..

Peter Daszak, major funder of Wuhan lab, faces growing scrutiny amid COVID origins probe

Infectious disease expert funneled hundreds of thousands of U.S. taxpayer dollars to Wuhan lab prior to pandemic.

As interest in the Wuhan "lab-leak theory" has intensified, a man at the center of the controversy has undergone a dramatic reversal of public and professional fortune.

Peter Daszak funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology from NIH grant awards that were largely shielded from wide public view. Later he posed as an ostensibly disinterested expert on the origins of COVID-19 in his roles as official international investigator, scientific researcher, and media commentator.

A British-born zoologist, Daszak is the president of EcoHealth Alliance, a New York-based research nonprofit focused on emerging infectious diseases. Closely involved with the global response to SARS-Cov-2 since early last year, Daszak was among the organizers and signatories of an influential letter in February 2020 condemning "conspiracy theories" surrounding the potential laboratory origin of the COVID-19 virus. He was given space in major international newspapers to argue vehemently against the lab-leak theory. And he was eventually selected to participate in the World Health Organization's investigation into the origins of SARS-Cov-2.

Yet in recent months, Daszak has suffered a fall from public grace: He has been sidelined from further investigations into COVID-19's origins; his earlier advocacy of the "natural origin" theory of COVID-19 has been retroactively footnoted to acknowledge (with varying degrees of transparency) his links to the Wuhan lab; and he has been subject to harsh media criticism as those links have become more widely known.

The editors of the renowned British medical journal The Lancet, for instance, this month published an addendum to the letter Daszak coauthored in March of last year, expanding on Daszak's "competing interests" regarding the subject of SARS-Cov-2's origins. The note did not mention the Wuhan Institute of Virology specifically — instead obliquely referring to "EcoHealth Alliance's work in China" — but more than a year after the letter was first published, his conflicting interests were tacitly acknowledged.

This was not the first time editors were forced to issue an update to clarify Daszak's associations. His June 2020 article in the Guardian originally made no mention of his link to the Wuhan Institute of Virology; that clarification was added about a week after the article was first published.

Even in cases where the research links between Daszak and the WIV were initially acknowledged, Daszak's heavy funding of the Wuhan lab was left unspoken, as in reports in the Wall Street Journal and in Vox.

Daszak's bankrolling of the Wuhan coronavirus experiments has since become common knowledge not just among those who have closely followed the COVID-19 debate but among the broader American public, thanks in part to heavy news coverage of that funding as well as critical analysis from hugely popular commentators such as Tucker Carlson.

As wider exposure of Daszak's previously veiled ties to the WIV has eroded his credibility as a source on the origins of COVID-19, he has been sidelined by the Lancet's COVID-19 Commission. On that website, he is now listed as having been "recused from Commission work on the origins of the pandemic." The site, however, still does not explain why Daszak was sequestered from that project, and the Lancet's biography of Daszak neglects to list his association with the Wuhan lab.

Daszak's place at the center of the COVID origin controversy has been noted by government officials, including Wisconsin Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. In April, the committee demanded that Daszak provide extensive documentation of, among other things, his work with the Wuhan lab.

A steady drumbeat of news reports have revealed further potentially embarrassing revelations surrounding Daszak: Video from 2016 in which he described his Chinese colleagues creating "killer" viruses through viral manipulation; a virologist's admission that EcoHealth was associated at least indirectly with dangerous "gain-of-function" research related to bat coronaviruses in China; and multiple scientists and major public officials expressing skepticism about the conclusions of the WHO investigation of which Daszak was a part.

Whether or not the pressure on Daszak will continue will likely depend upon a variety of factors, including how much information can be drawn from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Daszak's team reportedly spent just one day there during the WHO investigation, largely talking with lab officials.

As of now, Congress has not subpoenaed Daszak to appear before it. Democrats narrowly control both chambers, leaving Republicans unable to wield subpoena power. Daszak did not respond to requests for comment on the controversy.

Emails raise new questions about Wuhan coronavirus lab's safety protocols prior to pandemic
The lab has been at the center of controversy and speculation for well over a year.

Emails released on Thursday afternoon have raised further questions about the preparedness of Chinese officials in managing a high-stakes coronavirus lab in the years leading up to the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic.
The emails, obtained via a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by Judicial Watch, depict an official with the Wuhan Institute of Virology scrambling to find disinfectant to sterilize lab equipment in the facility in 2016, shortly after a high-level laboratory opened up there.

Wuhan Institute of Virology Vice Director Yuan Zhiming is shown in the emails asking NIH virologist Jens Kuhn for help determining the right disinfectants for the institute's BSL-4 laboratory, which had just recently opened and had not yet started working with viruses. "BSL-4" is the highest level of security at which a lab can be constructed and is reserved for the highest-risk virological research.

"I am writing to you to ask your help," Zhiming wrote. "Our laboratory is under operation without pathogens, and we are now looking for the disinfectants for decontamination of airtight suits and surface decontamination indoor decontamination.

"We have tried several ones do [sic] determine their antiviral efficacy and corrosion to pipeline and wastewater treatment equipment. Unfortunately, we have [sic] found a good candidate. I hope you can give us some help, to give us some suggestion for the choice of disinfectants used in P4 laboratory."

Kuhn responded that he was "not the right person to weigh in on official biosafety procedures." He directed Zhiming to several other NIH officials who "may be able to point you in the right directions."

Neither Kuhn nor the NIH responded to requests for comment on the emails on Thursday evening

The Wuhan lab has been at the forefront of ongoing controversy since early last year when speculation arose that a "lab leak" might have been responsible for the release of the SARS-Cov-2 virus that launched the pandemic. The lab sits just a few miles from the first reported outbreak of SARS-Cov-2.

The WIV has for years performed experiments on coronaviruses, many of them funded by U.S. taxpayer dollars via the U.S.-based nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance. Much of that experimentation sought to determine the pandemic potential of various coronaviruses in an effort to prepare for dangerous viral outbreaks.

The lab has been flagged in the past for its allegedly lax safety protocols. A State Department memo from 2018 expressed concern over the lab's "shortage of trained staff" at the time.

A World Health Organization investigation into the origin of SARS-Cov-2, meanwhile, reportedly spent only one day at the Wuhan lab, apparently mostly in conversation with scientists.

Evidence has emerged that scientists last year may have in part felt pressured to disregard concerns of a lab-leak origin due to then-President Donald Trump's enthusiastic endorsement of the theory.

More recently, House Republicans have requested documentation from Peter Daszak, the president of EcoHealth Alliance, regarding the relationship between the nonprofit and the Wuhan lab. Daszak has so far failed to produce those materials, while House Democrats have refused to use their subpoena power to compel him to do so.

White House defends door-to-door vaccination push amid backlash

Jen Psaki stressed that the COVID-19 vaccine is not mandated by the federal government

The White House Wednesday sought to clarify its new door-to-door coronavirus vaccine push amid fresh criticism from the right that the home visit approach is government overreach. White House press secretary Jen Psaki stressed Wednesday that no one from the federal government will be showing up at Americans' doors mandating coronavirus vaccinations. Rather, the personal visits President Biden announced Tuesday are designed to share information on vaccinations as the White House aims to still reach its Fourth of July goal of having 70% of the adult population jabbed.

"What we're trying to do here at the federal government is protect the American people and save lives,” Psaki told CNN’s "New Day” on Wednesday. The door-to-door push is designed to inform people in less vaccinated pockets of the country about where to get the shot and address their concerns about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, she said, adding that it's not up to the federal government to mandate vaccines.

"It's up to every individual to decide whether they're going to get vaccinated,” Psaki continued.Psaki also referred to the "door-to-door” effort while listing the five objectives of Biden's COVID response earlier in the day at Tuesday's briefing, citing "targeted community door-to-door outreach” to 'get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring that they have the information they need on how both safe and accessible the vaccine is.”

That's right... It's up to every individual to decide whether they're going to get vaccinated... so make sure to ask about all the facts because you can bet your ass there's a damn good reason why Jen Psaki stressed that the COVID-19 vaccine isn't mandated by the federal government...

Rand Paul and Anthony Fauci Clash on NIH Funding in Wuhan: ‘It Is a Crime to Lie to Congress’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) grilled Dr. Anthony Fauci during a hearing on the Chinese coronavirus Tuesday over his prior claim that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has never funded gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Paul’s presentation triggered President Biden’s chief medical adviser, who refused to retract his May 11 statement and instead snapped at the Kentucky senator, brazenly telling Paul, “you do not know what you are talking about.”

In May, Fauci admitted the NIH funded the Wuhan lab but continued to deny gain of function research, defining it as “taking a virus that could infect humans and making it either more transmissible and/or pathogenic for humans.” “That categorically was not done,” Fauci claimed. Paul has since said Fauci “lied to the American people.” Speaking on Real America’s Voice, Paul explained:

There was gain of function research going on with Dr. Shi Zhengli at the Wuhan Institute. In her paper, she actually thanked Dr. Fauci and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is a part of National Institutes of Health (NIH) that Dr. Fauci runs. It’s listed at the end of the paper. This paper was fined by NIAID research, and it lists a ten-digit number that identifies the research money she got from the United States. Was it gain of function? Well, it took a SARS virus, which is a coronavirus, that’s 15 times more deadly than COVID, and it added to it S protein, which is something in the surface of it, to make it more easily infectious to epithelial cells for the respiratory tract. That, to me, is gain of function.
On Monday, Paul called on Fauci to be “removed from a position of authority”.
