This local represents UNFI drivers who claim they do not clean, nor provide proper safety equipment to deal with COVID.

Covid-concerned truckers say company doesn’t disinfect trucks or provide PPE, threaten to strike
More than 100 truck drivers who supply groceries to stores in New York and the surrounding states are threatening to strike over COVID-19 safety concerns.

Around 120 truck drivers represented by Teamster’s Local 445 say that United Natural Foods (UNFI) has failed to provide them with personal protective equipment (PPE) like hand sanitizer and masks and has failed to disinfect their trucks, according to reporting from Fox Business. The truck drivers are also calling for shorter work days, wage increases, and better benefits.

UNFI supplies Whole Foods grocery store locations. The truck drivers threatening to strike pick up at the UNFI’s Montgomery, New York distribution center and deliver to 30 Whole Foods locations in New York City, Connecticut, upstate New York, and New Jersey.

This issue with providing PPE for "essential workers" at UNFI may cause a strike.

Ahead of Thanksgiving, Workers Demand Grocery Supplier UNFI Comply with COVID-19 Safety Regulations, Stop Violating Federal Labor Laws
Frontline workers at grocery supplier UNFI [NYSE: UNFI] in New York are urging supermarket chains and online retailers to prepare for possible prolonged disruptions to food supplies because UNFI is not taking COVID-19 safety seriously. Warehouse and delivery workers at UNFI, the second-largest wholesale food distributor in the United States, have overwhelmingly voted to strike to demand that the company stop violating federal labor laws and comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines. Strikes and work stoppages at UNFI could start at any time.
The Teamsters represent approximately 3,700 UNFI workers in seventeen states who may have the right to honor picket line extensions.

UNFI and the Teamsters have ratified a contract in regards to the issue of providing PPE..

UNFI TEAMSTERS IN NEW YORK RATIFY CONTRACT WITH WHOLE FOODS DISTRIBUTOR
Teamster drivers who are members of Teamsters Local 445 ratified a collective bargaining agreement with grocery distributor UNFI on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

UNFI is one of the largest food distributors in the New York metro area and the largest supplier to Whole Foods nationwide. Its main hub is in the Hudson Valley, with drop-yards in New Jersey and the Bronx, N.Y. Workers there have long been seeking better COVID-19 protections, better wages and healthcare, and better work schedules.

A week ago, Teamster drivers at UNFI authorized a strike over violations of federal labor law and UNFI’s failure to provide adequate protections from COVID-19. Before a strike occurred, UNFI proposed an improved contract offer, and Local 445’s UNFI members ratified the contract on Sunday.
