Over the ensuing weeks, the Lincoln campaign made plans to develop Wide Awakes throughout the country and to use them to spearhead large voter registration drives since they knew that new voters and young voters tend to embrace new and young parties. Members of the Wide Awakes were described by The New York Times as "young men of character and energy, earnest in their Republican convictions and enthusiastic in prosecuting the canvass on which we have entered." In Chicago on October 3, 1860, 10,000 Wide Awakes marched in a three-mile procession. The story on that rally occupied eight columns of the Chicago Tribune. In Indiana, one historian reported:

1860 was the most colorful in the memory of the Hoosier electorate. “Speeches, day and night, torch-light processions, and all kinds of noise and confusion are the go, with all parties,” commented the “independent” Indianapolis Locomotive. Congressman Julian too was impressed by the “contrivance and spectacular display” which prevailed in the current canvass. Each party took unusual pains to mobilize its followers in disciplined political clubs, but the most remarkable of these were the Lincoln “Rail Maulers” and “Wide Awakes,” whose organizations extended throughout the state. Clad in gaudy uniforms the members of these quasi-military bands participated in all Republican demonstrations. The “Wide Awakes” in particular were well drilled and served as political police in escorting party speakers and in preserving order at public meetings. Party emulation made every political rally the occasion for carefully arranged parades through banner-bedecked streets, torchlight processions, elaborate floats and transparencies, blaring bands, and fireworks.
By the middle of the 1860 campaign, Republicans bragged that they had Wide Awake chapters in every county of every northern (free) state.[3] On the day of Lincoln's election as president, it had grown to 500,000 members. The group remained active for several decades.
The “Wide Awakes” would be considered and treated as insurrectionists today!!!

      Re: Our Dying Republic

Are North Americans getting comfortable with tyranny?

Tamara Lich, a 47-year-old mother from Alberta, was arrested and charged recently for “counseling to commit mischief” after raising more than $10 million through a GoFundMe campaign in support of the Canadian Freedom Convoy protesters. Then, incredibly, Ontario Court Justice Julie Bourgeois denied Lich bail, claiming that she was not convinced that Lich would go home quietly and discontinue her counseling activity if she were released on bond. According to the Ottawa Citizen, Judge Bourgeois told Lich: "I cannot be reassured that if I release you into the community that you will not re-offend. Your detention is necessary for the protection and safety of the public."

Even violent offenders are often offered bail—but Judge Julie refused to grant it to someone who legally raised money for those engaging in a peaceful protest to win back freedoms that a tyrannical government took from them?! Because she couldn’t be certain that Lich wouldn’t “re-offend” if she was released back into the community? Any judge could say that about anyone who has been arrested. If that were a standard, no one would ever be granted bail and no one would ever be released. In this case, it is beyond preposterous—and truly appalling. The “protection and safety of the public” would literally be better served if Judge Bourgeois were behind bars. How did Canada and the United States get to where we are today, with our basic freedoms in dire jeopardy of being permanently extinguished?

Well, in related news, a new poll revealed that 65.7% of Democrats who are likely to vote in the 2022 midterms are okay with the actions that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government took to quell the freedom protests. The poll, conducted by the Trafalgar Group between February 18th and February 20th, asked those surveyed, “Do you approve or disapprove of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handling of the trucker protest in his country?” A majority of all those polled disapproved of Trudeau’s actions, as did over 83% of Republicans, but nearly two in every three Democrats gave a thumbs up to fascist oppression. Sadly, this makes sense because Democrats control virtually all levels of government, as well as corporate America, Big Tech, academia, media, and entertainment, and they do not want that power challenged by anyone, anywhere, anytime. The ironically (and amusingly) named Bourgeois makes that clear.

This is why the rest of us must challenge their power. Every day. No matter what. Or one day soon we will find that we are led by a Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, or Kim Jong-un. The Biden and Trudeau administrations have made that clear.

Is the establishment's useful idiot puppet finally starting to come to an end... after all... talking about having a perfect fall guy after the establishment establishes it's goals. Yep... just blame it all on the mental midget...

Poll: Strong Majority Now Think Joe Biden Is Mentally Unfit to Serve

A strong majority of adults in the United States believe President Joe Biden is mentally unfit to serve as commander in chief, according to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll. The poll, which was released only days before the president is slated to give the State of the Union address, showed a majority believe Biden is unfit to serve as president while also revealing the lowest job approval rating (37 percent) from the Washington Post/ABC News poll since becoming president just over a year ago.

The recent poll revealed that the “underlying weakness” is to the degree that most adults “have doubts about his personal capacities.” When the respondents were asked if he was a strong leader, 59 percent said no, while 36 percent said yes. In fact, those percentages resemble his job approval; 37 percent approve and 55 percent disapprove. When asked about Biden’s “mental sharpness” to serve as president, 54 percent said they do not think Biden is mentally sharp enough, while only 40 percent said he is. When respondents were asked the same question in May 2020, when Biden was only a candidate, 51 percent said he had the “mental sharpness” needed to serve as president, while 43 percent said he did not.

Biden seemed to have lost independents, a critical polling group, on this topic. Fifty-nine percent of the independents gave the president’s mental sharpness a negative assessment, a rise of 13 percentage points since May 2020. The Washington Post/ABC News poll was conducted from February 20 to 24, where it asked 1,011 random adults in the U.S. The poll saw a four percent margin of error.

The hidden agenda behind Joe Biden's 'black female' Supreme Court pledge

As soon as Associate Justice Stephen Breyer announced his intent to retire, the Biden-Harris regime reported their plan to fill his seat with a black female replacement. Why announce the sex and skin color of the nominee, weeks in advance of naming the name? Biden's strategy here is not just an effort to protect a party that's bleeding from a loss of conservative blacks, but also an attempt to insulate the nomination from the normal process. Touted first and foremost as a black female, the nominee's "groundbreaking" sex and color are the costume that disguises the actual content of this nomination.

Ketanji Brown Jackson was raised in the orbit of government: her father was chief attorney for a school district; her mother was a school principal. She attended Harvard for undergrad and law school, clerked at the Supreme Court, did pro bono work at major law firms helping criminals beat the rap, and received plum appointments to federal judgeships from Barack Obama and Joe Biden. And she served on the United States Sentencing Commission, first as a counsel, then as a commissioner. Throughout her career, there is one common thread: a personal crusade to reduce the ability of the criminal justice system to impose real sentences on people convicted of crimes.

Our system requires both defense attorneys and prosecuting attorneys; it is fundamental to our system that the defendant is assumed innocent until proven guilty. But once that guilt is proven, the American people need to be able to count on our system to remove the criminal from society, to keep him off the streets until he is no longer a threat. In a nation in which the vast majority of crimes are committed by recidivists, there is no other issue more central to criminal justice than the ability to impose long sentences on those who are finally proven to be a threat to their communities.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is intended to be the pro-criminal, anti-LEO lobby's camel under the tent, to infect the Supreme Court itself with this malevolent attitude. She has all the public relations positives — Ivy League degrees, an impressive curriculum vitae, several years on the federal bench. She would be the Supreme Court's first black female, as if the color and sex of the judge should have anything to do with the votes she casts or the opinions she writes. But in a world crafted by P.R., the Biden-Harris regime is hoping this is the way to sell its destructive, dangerous policies to the American people. Her welcome skin color and sex, her cheerful smile, and impressive résumé are just deceptive coverings over the pro-criminal policies that have scared shoppers out of the malls, turned our inner cities into war zones, and forced those who could afford it into gated communities.

America cannot afford the left's euphemisms anymore. We need to cast off the disguises and start seeing Democrat bills, policies, and appointees for what they really are. The American voter needs to remember one of the oldest of proverbs whenever political appointees bury their policy positions under colorful emphasis on their demographics: "You can't judge a book by its cover."

          Re: Our Dying Republic

It's questionable whether Biden understands American values

Recently, Joe Biden warned us that "standing up for our values is not without costs." But what values is Biden talking about when he says that? Joe Biden's terrible and inexcusable missteps caused him to seek ways to take the spotlight off his administration's many grotesque failures. These failures make America vulnerable to chaos occurring worldwide. The war between Russia and Ukraine will significantly accelerate more economic pain (inflation, shortages, "supply-chain" disruptions, etc.). Biden would like to "soften us up" for some economic "hard blows" we will endure in the coming days and months. Using manipulation tactics and talking points about "our values," Biden hopes to coalesce national pride and a team spirit amid real economic pain and uncertainty. He reminds Americans that "standing up for our values is not without costs." His statement totally sidesteps questions like, "What are our values?" And "Is Joe Biden helping or hindering standing up for our values?" People from all over the world still come to America to embrace America's commitment to "liberty and justice for all." Viewed through the lens of collective zeal for liberty, however, government-mandated vaccine policies and mandatory masking certainly do not comport with "our values." Yet Biden continues these onerous mandates despite growing scientific evidence showing they are far more damaging than helpful.

America's collective desire for liberty and justice extends to national sovereignty and border policies. But open and marginally secured borders encouraging illegal migration fosters neither liberty nor justice either for Americans or those who are human-/sex-trafficked. Weak border policies also dramatically accelerate drug- and weapon-trafficking. Needless to say, these policies don't comport with "our values," either. So what exactly does Joe mean by "our values?" Recent polling confirms that Americans believe that "our values" include protecting national sovereignty via our borders, something that should come before going around the world to protect other nations' borders. It's hard to fathom, but Biden is more zealous about protecting Ukraine's sovereignty (including sending U.S. border agents to help protect Ukrainian borders), instead of protecting the sovereignty and security of America's borders. Americans want to see a strong commitment to safeguarding sovereignty and "democracy" at home before becoming the world's police and champions of "democracy" elsewhere. Get our own house in order first — that reflects the core of "our values"!

We also see energy independence as an essential American value. Biden's policies significantly limiting oil and gas drilling in America have weakened us and made us unnecessarily vulnerable to America's foes. Importing energy from nefarious nation-states seeking to undermine America's liberty — that isn't one of "our values." Policies that produce energy independence to meet the demands of a vibrant economy while providing lower fuel costs are "our values"! Biden seems purposely blind to and ignorant about this American value, instead embracing irrationality and imprudence. Notably, "our values" also demand safety in civil society. Escalating crimes encouraged by "no bail reforms" and by "defunding" law enforcement agencies create chaotic and unsafe communities. These policies are not "our values"!

Safe streets and communities where children can play without threat are quintessential American traditions and values. Yet Biden's "soft on crime" initiatives (bolstered by his political party and supporters) have turned American streets and neighborhoods into wholly unsafe battle zones. With Biden policies demonstrating leniency and partiality toward criminals — ignoring law-abiding citizens' safety concerns — America doesn't stand for "liberty and justice for all." Ironically, Joe Biden has an excellent opportunity to confirm "our values." If he's sincere, he will focus on immediate policies like securing U.S. national sovereignty (via borders). He would do this before securing the borders of aligned partners in foreign lands.

He would also immediately focus on halting the escalating cartel activities that rob us of fundamental decency via human-/sex-/drug-/weapon-trafficking. With the "stroke of a pen" Biden would also advance American values by immediately reinitiating all drilling permits so America can once again become energy independent (as we were when he became president). Lastly, he would make sure his supporters and political party renounce and denounce the "no bail" and "defund police" movements. These policy moves would all reflect "our values." Americans aren't stupid. It doesn't work to use insincere pablum to supposedly "soften the blow" of impending economic chaos and to encourage collective teamwork to get through it when there is no genuine, principled desire to stand for our real values.

We must stand for American values, including sovereign national borders, energy independence, and safe communities. But unfortunately, Biden's policies reveal these are not his values. His statement made clear that his values will indeed come with a very high "cost." But Americans collectively paying high (and altogether preventable) costs is not an acceptable answer when the "values" aren't ours. Biden must abandon his destructive policies and embrace real American values.

                Re: Our Dying Republic

Speaking of republics… let’s take a look at one that failed miserably… the German Weimar Republic…

Weimar Republic, the government of Germany from 1919 to 1933, so called because the assembly that adopted its constitution met at Weimar from February 6 to August 11, 1919.

                https://www.britannica.com/place/Weimar-Republic
Why was the German Weimar Republic a failure?

Some historians blame the failure of democracy on individuals. The moderate chancellors were ineffective leaders who constantly rose and fell as party coalitions gained or lost strength in the Reichstag. President Hindenburg doubted democracy and dreamed of restoring the kaiser to power. Extremists like Hitler hated democracy. Other historians point to flaws in the Weimar Constitution, such as the provision that allowed rule by decree and the suspension of constitutional rights in a national emergency. Many criticize the Versailles Treaty for humiliating Germany with the “war guilt” clause and punishing future generations of Germans with the burden of reparations. Historians have also placed great emphasis on the economic conditions that ravaged the German people with hyperinflation and unemployment.

                https://www.crf-usa.org/bill-of-righ...democracy-fail
The Weimar Constitution included these highlights:

                • The German Reich is a Republic.
                • The government is made of a president, a chancellor and a parliament (Reichstag).
                • Representatives of the people must be elected equally every four years by all men and women over age 20.
                • The term of the President is seven years.
                • All orders of the President must be endorsed by the Chancellor or a Reich Minister.
                • Article 48 allows the President to suspend civil rights and operate independently in an emergency.
                • Two legislative bodies (the Reichstag and the Reichsrat) were formed to represent the German people.
                • All Germans are equal and have the same civil rights and responsibilities.
                • All Germans have the right to freedom of expression.
                • All Germans have the right to peaceful assembly.
                • All Germans have the right to freedom of religion; there is no state church.
                • State-run, public education is free and mandatory for children.
                • All Germans have the right of private property.
                • All Germans have the right to equal opportunity and earnings in the workplace.

                https://www.history.com/topics/germany/weimar-republic
Hitler blamed the Weimar Republic’s weakness on the influence of Germany’s Jewish and communist minorities, who he claimed were trying to take over the country. Jews represented everything the Nazis found repugnant: finance capitalism (controlled, the Nazis believed, by powerful Jewish financiers), international communism (Karl Marx was a German Jew, and the leadership of the German Communist Party was heavily Jewish), and modernist cultural movements like psychoanalysis and swing music. Nazi Party foreign policy aimed to rid Europe of Jews and other “inferior” peoples, absorb pure-blooded Aryans into a greatly expanded Germany—a “Third Reich”—and wage unrelenting war on the Slavic “hordes” of Russia, considered by Hitler to be Untermenschen (subhuman).Once conquered, the Soviet Union would be ruled by the German master race, which would exterminate or subdue millions of Slavs to create lebensraum (living space) for their own farms and communities. In a conquered and racially cleansed Russia, they would work on model farms and factories connected to the homeland by new highways, called autobahns.

During hyperinflation, the German middle class bore the brunt of the economic chaos. When another financial crisis hit, they grew weary and distrustful of their government leaders. Searching for new leadership and fearing a Communist takeover, many people turned to extremist parties such as the Nazi Party led by Adolf Hitler, despite his unpopular and failed attempt to start a national revolution in 1923.

                https://www.nationalww2museum.org/wa...-hitler-happen
How about this for a campaign speech…

                https://quotessayings.net/topics/country-in-turmoil/

By 1932, the Nazis were the largest political party in the Reichstag. In January of the following year, with no other leader able to command sufficient support to govern, President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Hitler chancellor of Germany. Shortly thereafter, a fire broke out in the Reichstag building in Berlin, and authorities arrested a young Dutch communist who confessed to starting it.
Hitler used this episode to convince President Hindenburg to declare an emergency decree suspending many civil liberties throughout Germany, including freedom of the press, freedom of expression, and the right to hold public assemblies. The police were authorized to detain citizens without cause, and the authority usually exercised by regional governments became subject to control by Hitler’s national regime.

                https://www.nationalww2museum.org/wa...-hitler-happen
The Reichstag fire (German: Reichstagsbrand, listen (help•info)) was an arson attack on the Reichstag building, home of the German parliament in Berlin, on Monday 27 February 1933, precisely four weeks after Nazi leader Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany. Marinus van der Lubbe, a Dutch "council communist", was the apparent culprit; however, Hitler attributed the fire to Communist agitators. He used it as a pretext to claim that Communists were plotting against the German government, and induced President Paul von Hindenburg to issue the Reichstag Fire Decree suspending civil liberties, and pursue a "ruthless confrontation" with the Communists.[1] This made the fire pivotal in the establishment of Nazi Germany. A German court decided later that year that Van der Lubbe had acted alone, as he himself had claimed. The day after the fire, at Hitler's request, President Hindenburg signed the Reichstag Fire Decree into law by using Article 48 of the Weimar Constitution. The Reichstag Fire Decree suspended most civil liberties in Germany, including habeas corpus, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, the right of free association and public assembly, and the secrecy of the post and telephone.[18] These rights were not reinstated during Nazi reign. The decree was used by the Nazis to ban publications not considered "friendly" to the Nazi cause.

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstag_fire
Hitler’s military spending and ambitious public-works programs, including building a German autobahn, helped restore prosperity. His regime also suppressed the Communist Party and purged his own paramilitary storm troopers, whose violent street demonstrations alienated the German middle class. This bloodletting—called the “Night of the Long Knives”—was hugely popular and welcomed by the middle class as a blow struck for law and order. In fact, many Germans went along with the full range of Hitler’s policies, convinced that they would ultimately be advantageous for the country. In 1938, Hitler began his long-promised expansion of national boundaries to incorporate ethnic Germans. He colluded with Austrian Nazis to orchestrate the Anschluss, the annexation of Austria to Germany. And in Hitler’s most brazenly aggressive act yet, Czechoslovakia was forced to surrender the Sudetenland, a mountainous border region populated predominantly by ethnic Germans.

The Czechs looked to Great Britain and France for help, but hoping to avoid war—they had been bled white in World War I—these nations chose a policy of appeasement. At a conclave held at Munich in September 1938, representatives of Great Britain and France compelled Czech leaders to cede the Sudetenland in return for Hitler’s pledge not to seek additional territory. The following year, the German army swallowed up the remainder of Czechoslovakia. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, one of the signers of the Munich pact, had taken Hitler at his word. Returning to Britain with this agreement in hand, he proudly announced that he had achieved “peace with honor. I believe it is peace for our time.” A year later, German troops stormed into Poland.

That is what you call a death of a republic… and with the backing of its citizens!!!

If you want to try and predict the future… just go back and research your history… while you still can… because believe me… they are re-writing it on a daily basis. It is getting harder and harder to get to the truth nowadays to verify the past facts… they are seeing to that. This is what I could come up with after 2 days of research and getting inflicted with 2 viruses in the process because even though Google search showed them as reliable sites… they were not!!! Now it seems... doing some detail oriented researching when it comes to the actual truth can be a potentially harmful risk to your computer. There are some things they just don't like people digging into... so for those thinking of doing some serious researching in the future... I suggest having a damn good anti-virus... another damn good malware and for added security... even an adaware... and I sure don't mean the likes of Norton and Mcafee... you would be better off inviting "big brother" to come watch you surf the internet!!! And... it sure would be a good idea to be able to reformat your own computer and make sure you keep your system restore updated.

Reminds me of my research that I did years ago on Homeland Security when I visited their website… yes… my own government tried to install a back-door trojan on my PC!!!

Absence Of Ideological Diversity On ‘The View’ Is Breeding Dangerous Ideas, Such As A Police State

The absence of a genuine conservative co-host willing to challenge the panel on air is fostering a left-wing echo chamber on ‘The View.’

Less than nine months after Meghan McCain signed off as the conservative co-host of “The View,” the panel of leftist ladies has turned to offering their full endorsement of a fascist police state with no on-air pushback. On Monday, ABC’s daytime political talk show hosts made headlines demanding President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) probe Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard as Russian assets. The same Department of Justice targeted parents last fall who made objections to race-based curriculums and integration of radical gender theory into schools as “domestic terrorists.” “I think the DOJ, in the same way that it is setting up a task force to investigate oligarchs, should look into people who are Russian propagandists and shilling for Putin,” said longtime substitute co-host Ana Navarro filling in for Sara Haines. “That’s being, if you are a foreign asset of — to a dictator, it should be investigated.”

Carlson and Gabbard’s apparent crime? Public dissent to the media-manufactured consensus that American intervention in Ukraine is in U.S. interests. Navarro’s radical suggestion went unchallenged on air, with no pushback even from the former Trump White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin, auditioning for the conservative chair left vacant by McCain. Griffin, however, now a CNN commentator, is no conservative crusader having capitalized on the media incentive to play the Republican who attacks other Republicans. In the absence of any repudiation of the idea that political dissidents be prosecuted by state actors, Whoopi Goldberg supported the approach. “They used to arrest people for doing stuff like this,” Goldberg said. “If they thought you were colluding with a Russian agent, if they thought you were putting out information or taking information and handing it over to Russia, they used to actually investigate stuff like this. And I guess now, you know, there seems to be no bars.” (It’s unclear whether Goldberg was referring to the United States’ unjust practice of rounding up Japanese Americans suspected of being foreign agents during World War II, or some other historical event.)

Is there any evidence that Carlson or Gabbard were deliberately colluding with Russian agents to manipulate public opinion? If there was, the panel co-hosts amplifying a conspiracy theory promoted by Hillary Clinton three years ago failed to offer any. Griffin, whose job in the conservative seat is to refute extreme ideas on air, did nothing to counteract the echo chamber playing to the program’s more than two million viewers. Instead, the conservative tryout sat silent after supporting Utah Sen. Mitt Romney’s indictment of Gabbard as guilty of “treason.” Navarro spent the afternoon on Twitter doubling down on authoritarian demands that the Biden administration criminalize dissent on Ukraine. Navarro, who self-identifies as a Republican but can’t explain why, argued because Gabbard and Carlson’s talking points have been adopted by Russian state television, the pair are required to register as foreign agents.

                      • Remember the good ole days when the old adage was “It's not what you know... it's who you know”? Well... here's the new adage today... "it's not what you know... it's who you are... who you know and who you want to be on any given day"...

Eric Adams exempts athletes, performers from city vaccine mandate

Mayor Eric Adams exempted the city’s athletes and performers from the Big Apple’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on Thursday following weeks of pressure after it kept Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving from playing in home games — and was expected to block some baseball players from taking the field next month. Speaking at Citi Field and joined by executives of both the Mets and Yankees, Adams said Thursday that he has signed the order. The exemption was effective immediately. “Being healthy is not just about being physically healthy, but being economically healthy,” he said. Adams also prefaced his announcement by saying: “I’m going to make some tough choices. People are not going to agree with some of them. I must move this city forward. "Generals lead from the front. I was not elected to be fearful, but to be fearless.”

Among those who blasted Adams’s decision was the city’s next-highest elected official, fellow Democrat and City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams of Queens, who voiced “serious concerns” over what she called “a step away from following sensible, public health-driven policies that prioritize equity.” “I’m worried about the increasingly ambiguous messages that are being sent to New Yorkers about public health during this continuing pandemic,” the council speaker said. “This exemption sends the wrong message that higher-paid workers and celebrities are being valued as more important than our devoted civil servants, which I reject.” In addition to exempting professional athletes and performing artists, Adams’ executive order covers the arenas, stadiums, concert halls and theaters where they ply their trades — down to the smallest Greenwich Village jazz club or Brooklyn music bar. But Charlotte St. Martin, president of The Broadway League, said, “Broadway theatres anticipate no change in our protocols based on this announcement.” “We continue to evaluate our COVID safety protocols for audiences, cast and crew, in concert with our unions and medical experts,” St. Martin added.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Opera also said it wasn’t changing its policy for attendees, artists, orchestra and chorus members, and staffers, all of whom “must show proof of vaccination upon arrival at the Met.” The city’s sweeping vaccine mandates — which led to the firings of more than 1,400 city employees — will still apply to both municipal and private-sector workers.

During a Q&A session with reporters, Adams said he didn’t plan to re-hire any of the fired municipal workers, saying the issue had been litigated in the courts. Adams said he expected criticism but made the move “because the city has to function” and was heavily reliant on the tourism industry. “We’re leading the entire country, for the most part, in unemployment,” he said. “We’re seeing unbelievable vacancies in our business district.” Adams also said a provision in former Mayor Bill de Blasio’s private-sector mandate that exempted out-of-town athletes and performers was unfair to the Big Apple and its sports teams. “This is about putting New York City-based based performers on a level playing field,” he said. “Hometown players had an unfair disadvantage.”

Earlier Thursday, the leaders of several municipal unions blasted Adams for adopting a double standard that they said favored famous athletes and other celebrities.“There can’t be one system for the elite and another for the essential workers of our city,” said Harry Nespoli, president of the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association and chair of the umbrella Municipal Labor Committee. Nespoli also invoked the 1,400-plus city employees who were fired for refusing to get jabbed, saying: “There should be a re-entry program for workers to get their jobs back.” “When New York City shut down, many workers were mandated to come in every day without vaccines to keep the city running,” he said. “These workers often got sick, and when they got better, came right back to work.”

The executive director of District Council 37, which represents 150,000 workers and is the city’s largest municipal union, said, “We demand that those who lost their job over the mandate be reinstated.” “These are the same essential workers who kept the City going during the height of the pandemic,” Henry Garrido said. “They deserve the respect and dignity of having their jobs back. They deserve to be treated equally to their private-sector counterparts.”

The head of the NYPD Detectives’ Endowment Union, Paul DiGiacomo, said Adams’ move “doesn’t make sense.” “The objective, scientific findings do not support giving athletes one option and New York City detectives another option,” he said. “This vaccine mandate is being done in the middle of a crime wave. We are losing experienced detectives in the homicide squad, precinct squads. The only losers are the people of New York.”

Patrick Lynch, president of the 24,000-member Police Benevolent Association, said, “We have been suing the city for months over its arbitrary and capricious vaccine mandate — this is exactly what we are talking about.” “If the mandate isn’t necessary for famous people, then it’s not necessary for the cops who are protecting our city in the middle of a crime crisis,” he said in a prepared statement. “While celebrities were in lockdown, New York City police officers were on the street throughout the pandemic, working without adequate PPE and in many cases contracting and recovering from Covid themselves. They don’t deserve to be treated like second-class citizens now.”

A spokesperson for the United Federation of Teachers, which represents the city’s public school educators, said, “Vaccinations are a critical tool against the spread of COVID, and the city should not create exceptions to its vaccination requirements without compelling reasons.” “If the rules are going to be suspended, particularly for people with influence, then the UFT and other city unions are ready to discuss how exceptions could be applied to city workers,” the spokesperson added. Last week, the US Supreme Court said it would consider an appeal filed by 15 teachers workers who claim their rights were violated when the Department of Education refused to grant them exemptions based on their religious beliefs.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Andrew Giuliani and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa also announced a preemptive news conference outside the entrance to Citi Field, 45 minutes before Adams was scheduled to speak there. “In 2020, we saw the very best of New York in our first responders, essential workers and teachers. In response, they’ve now been told by two governors and two mayors to take the shot or lose their job,” Giuliani said in a statement. “It’s time to right those wrongs by ending all mandates, reinstating these heroes, and giving them back pay. The freedom to make personal health decisions shouldn’t only be the right of athletes and performers.”

Fired NYC workers want to sue Adams over athlete vaccine exemption: lawyers

Scores of workers who got fired for refusing to comply with the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates are eager to sue Mayor Eric Adams over his decision to exempt local pro athletes and performers, lawyers said Thursday. “This morning alone we have received over 100 different calls asking for our help,” Staten Island lawyer Louis Gelormino told The Post. Long Island lawyer James Mermigis also said, “I already got five calls this morning from private-sector employees that were let go because of the mandate and they want to sue the city.” “I’m going to have them in my office over the weekend,” he said.

Mermigis, who’s been dubbed “the anti-shutdown lawyer” for filing pandemic-related suits, already represents 41 NYPD cops who are appealing denials of their requests to be exempted from the city’s vaccine mandate on religious grounds. They plan to sue if those decisions go against them, he said. Mermigis called Adams’ announcement Thursday “another slap in the face to regular New Yorkers who just want to earn a living.” “We are going to allow the $50 million-per-year-salary athletes play on their sports team, but what does the city need more: a healthy Yankee team or a healthy police department?” he said. “Look at the crime that’s going on in the city. This is absolutely ridiculous and backwards.” Gelormino also called Adams’ move “shameful” and said the city’s vaccine mandates were unconstitutional. He said the challenges to Thursday’s executive order could come in the form of complaints to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which enforces federal laws prohibiting job discrimination. “My partner, Mark Fonte, and I will aggressively be pursuing any legal action available in order to best represent our clients,” he said. “We are in the process of deciding what’s the best avenue.”

                        • It seems like the lawless leftist snowflakes and their leaders aren't content with just getting away with murder and mayhem with all the 2020 riots... so... they have now decided to go after those who dared to stand in their way...

Civilian Review Board Recommends Charges, Discipline for 104 NYPD Officers Over 2020 Handling of BLM Rioters

Last week, the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) found more than 100 New York City cops guilty of misconduct during violent clashes with Black Lives Matter (BLM) rioters in 2020. The CCRB recommended a range of penalties for the officers, from loss of vacation days to charges. No charges have ever been brought against most of the rioters who injured nearly 400 NYPD officers in those same riots.

Following the death of George Floyd while he was in the custody of Minneapolis police in May 2020, BLM and Antifa instigated the Summer of Terror. Riots, fires, looting, and other violence swept through more than 200 American cities. When the violence surfaced in New York City, then-Mayor Bill de Blasio ordered the NYPD to handle it.

NYPD came out in force to confront the lawless violence that threatened property and human life. More than a few interactions between police and rioters turned violent as NYPD officers attempted to gain control of the situation — after all, BLM and Antifa are not known for applying restraint or being easily reasoned with. When the only tool in your toolbox is a baseball bat, every problem is a head that needs smashing.

In response to complaints — mostly from the very criminals who perpetrated the violence of 2020 — the CCRB took on the task of investigating the actions of NYPD officers who were caught between the rock of their duty and the hard place of violent rioting at the hands of BLM and Antifa.

During the BLM/Antifa violence, more than 400 NYPD officers were injured. And while very few have ever been charged for the crime of injuring those officers (though many of those crimes were captured on video), the CCRB has completed its investigation and issued its report.

The CCRB investigations looked into roughly “750 complaints lodged by protesters against police for misuse of force, abuse of authority, discourtesy, and making false statements,” according to a report by the Daily Mail. The board singled out more than 300 complaints and “verified 65 complaints that included 187 allegations against 104 officers,” according to a report by a report byThe Independent. The CCRB recommended that charges, the highest level of punishment, be filed against 61 of the officers, meaning they could face a departmental trial. The board further suggested that 18 officers receive Command Discipline B, and that 25 officers receive Command Discipline A.

“Command Disciplines are recommended for misconduct that is more problematic than poor training but does not rise to the level of charges. An officer can lose up to 10 vacation days as a result of a Command Discipline,” the CCRB website states.

The CCRB claims that fully one-third of the complaints could not be fully investigated because the officers involved could not be identified. This, the CCRB report claims, is because officers failed to follow proper protocol and because they hid their identities by covering their badge numbers. The report states: The CCRB has seen unprecedented challenges in investigating these complaints, particularly around the identification of officers due to the failure to follow proper protocols, officers covering their names and shield, officers wearing protective equipment that did not belong to them, the lack of proper use of body-worn cameras, as well as incomplete and severely delayed paperwork.
Civilian review boards are almost always made up of leaders in the anti-police crowd, and the CCRB in New York City is no different. Patrick Lynch, president of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA), told New York’s PIX11

Despite CCRB’s attempts to substantiate cases on the flimsiest of evidence, the vast majority of complaints they investigate don’t result in a finding of misconduct. Meanwhile, almost none of the violent agitators who injured nearly 400 police officers during the protests have been identified or held accountable.
And Paul DiGiacomo, head of the Detectives Endowment Association, said the officers were simply following de Blasio’s orders to handle the violence of BLM rioters. He told the Daily Mail, “The police department only does what they’re ordered to do by the Mayor of the City of New York,” adding that there was clearly a bias on the part of the CCRB. The NYPD said in a statement that it will move forward with departmental trials for the cases the CCRB recommend for charges:

Police officers are entitled to due process and may choose to go forward with an administrative trial where evidence must be presented and may be challenged. These trials are open to the public. Any discipline that results in a finding of guilt or a plea of guilty in an NYPD administrative trial will be made public in the NYPD’s online discipline database and the penalty imposed will be based on a disciplinary matrix that was developed by the Department with significant input from the CCRB, other oversight entities, and the public.
So, as per CCRB recommendations, those officers who risked life and limb to protect the citizens of their city from orchestrated terrorist attacks by armed and dangerous mobs of BLM and Antifa thugs will face departmental charges. It is hoped that those trials will be impartial and that the officers will enjoy a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. The statement from the NYPD claims that will be the case:

It has been mutually agreed by both NYPD and the CCRB that this matrix will serve as a framework for police officer discipline. The NYPD has made significant strides and continues to work toward making our discipline processes transparent. Like any citizen, police officers should be afforded a presumption of innocence until and unless proven guilty.
The CCRB is taking this as a victory lap, stating that New Yorkers have had to wait a long time for resolution to these complaints. The board said it hopes this helps heal the rift between police and the people they serve. It remains to be seen how branding more than 100 NYPD officers as “guilty” will help heal anything — especially when those officers are “guilty” of being thrown into a street brawl with angry members of the snowflake army. Of course, it may well turn out that a series of fair and impartial trials will find many of them not guilty. If that happens, BLM and Antifa may resort to the very tactics that started all of this in the first place. If so, God help New York City and the rest of America.

It's obvious to anyone of average intelligence and common sense that what these lawless leftist snowflakes are really aiming for is the right to go around committing crimes... acts of violence... chaos and destruction or anything else they damn well please without being held accountable for fear of retaliation from their corrupt... loony leftist leaders. It really is a sad state of affairs that we find ourselves in today!!!

And in the meantime... those corrupt... loony leftist leaders are still hard at work trying to persecute anyone and everyone even remotely involved in the Jan.6th protest.

At least 800 people have been charged in the Capitol insurrection so far.

                          • A pro-Trump mob descended on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and hundreds face criminal charges.
                          • It took four hours to secure the building so Congress could certify President Joe Biden's victory.
                          • Over a year later, at least 800 people have been charged. This searchable table shows them all.
Since supporters of then-President Donald Trump swarmed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 — forcing Congress to go into lockdown and damaging the halls of government — at least 800 people have been arrested and charged with crimes.

The FBI is seeking the public's help to identify people who took part in one of the most documented crimes in US history.

But since many rioters were allowed to walk free a year ago, it's taking some time to track them down.

Only 213 federally charged rioters have entered guilty pleas so far.

The number of people charged in the insurrection is expected to keep growing as FBI agents pore through video footage, social media posts, phone location data, and tips from the public.

Democratic members of Congress pushed for a bipartisan commission to investigate the Capitol riot akin to the one made post-9/11, but Senate Republicans blocked the attempt.

Yes... this is where your hard earned tax dollars end up... financing the loony leftist criminal system!!! Paving the way for a safe lawless society to come to a city near you.... where the criminals are pampered and cuddled while the law abiding citizens are put out to dry and deterred from their simple right to protect themselves!!!

                          • Inflation, Invasion, and Crime — Oh, My!

Inflation, invasion, and crime — oh, my! The next few months and years don't look particularly appealing. As central bank money-printing and unsustainable U.S. government spending combine with the world's nascent decoupling from the dollar as the global reserve currency to reveal just how worthless greenbacks are when not linked to real commodities such as gold, it is becoming undeniable that tough economic times lie ahead. Let's go, Brandon!

The Biden-Obama Gang has decided to respond to this unfolding crisis by spending more money on interest group welfare and crony capitalist pork-barrel projects, drilling for far less energy here at home, and becoming more dependent on the energy production of our enemies, including those we're already none too subtly engaging in open warfare. Not surprisingly, these moves will only usher in greater inflation and dollar debasement.

At the same time, the Marxist left's strategic use of mass illegal immigration to destroy American communities, weaken political opposition, and dissolve national unity is set to get much worse as the few remaining Trump administration security checks on an otherwise open southern border are replaced with overt inducements to break U.S. immigration law, including federal promises of free health care, cross-country relocation services, and public indoctrination (I mean education).

Homicides, thefts of personal property, and other violent crimes — already reaching grisly record milestones in cities across the country — will naturally continue to skyrocket as the combined effects of our economic and illegal immigration crises snowball together. This is not a pretty picture. It's the kind of opening movie text you expect to read before sitting back with a tub of popcorn to watch Snake Plissken struggle to survive post-apocalyptic America during his Escape from New York or L.A. (both pretty good life moves right now, by the way).

So here's our sobering reality: the economic system, as we know it today, is headed for a crash. The political system may well follow suit. Both crashes have been in the works for some time. And many of America's most wealthy and politically powerful have helped put the whole catastrophe into motion. It is true that power is like a pyramid whose apex is reached only by two kinds of animals: eagles and reptiles. Unfortunately for Americans, the reptiles have flourished and devoured our eagle population to near extinction.

If you're not certain which of our tormentors have their fingerprints on this mess, look for the same people who build walls and security perimeters around their offices; engage in unbridled censorship; habitually call their fellow Americans "traitors," "extremists," or "terrorists"; and routinely escape punishment for their own crimes while using the same criminal "justice" system to persecute their ideological foes. Generally speaking, if an individual is regularly addressed in government committee hearings as "the Honorable so-and-so," it is more likely than not that the same person has acted dishonorably to subvert the United States Constitution and distort the rule of law during the course of "so-and-so's" career. In American politics these days, just as within American finance, the worse you are as a person, the better off you will become.

This last observation is not unique to our time. One of the remarkable achievements of our Founding Fathers was their profound appreciation for human nature and sin. In their writings and committee debates, they surveyed thousands of years of human history and took ample opportunity to note the recurring deficiencies in government systems that eventually triggered those systems' collapse. Among their considered observations regarding the events leading to their break with England, as well as those events that had led to the fall of great nations in the distant past, they were in agreement that concentrated power always begets outright government tyranny and the surrender of God-given personal freedoms.

In contrast to the Biden-Obama Gang's celebration of institutional authorities, our Founding Fathers went to great pains to recognize that delegated powers remain at all times a threat to the lives and liberties of those governed. Rather than adoring professional government as the Marxist Brandon-Obama Gang does, the men who laid the bedrock of our current system saw it as a necessary evil. From this vantage point, they struggled to devise a government that was exceptional due not to its various powers, but rather to its functional limitations. Our Constitution is explicit in describing the few duties to be performed by government agents and equally explicit that, except when performing those few delegated responsibilities, the government has no power to abridge the innumerable inalienable rights and liberties of each citizen, whether or not those inherent freedoms are enumerated explicitly in the Bill of Rights. The U.S. Constitution is both a ball and chain intended to keep government power in check and a revolutionary document safeguarding powers held solely by the people. That its clear intent has been abrogated by an activist Judiciary, a corrupt Congress, and the authoritarian overreaches of several presidencies without a proper reckoning from the people has only emboldened the U.S. government to further betray its own charter.

In effect, the Founding Fathers grasped that the only way to prevent tyranny and preserve liberty is to diffuse power as much as possible across the entire population. For those obligations that require the formal architecture of government, the answer is to maintain an equilibrated system that keeps power balanced by forcing officeholders to remain in continuous competition with each other. As Milton Friedman noted two centuries later, "Unless it is politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing, the right people will not do the right thing, either, or if they try, they will shortly be out of office." In other words, when the deficiencies of human nature are directed against each other to prevent the aggregation of abusive power, the people benefit. When institutions of power are allowed to conspire against the people, however, the system will collapse.

This simple yet shrewd principle has long been the lynchpin to America's historic success. Likewise, the abandonment of this mechanism in exchange for an "Expert Class" system of government that operates above the law at the behest of lobbyists and bureaucrats beholden to no one has invariably led the United States to its current inflection point and myriad crises. Just as no manipulable fiat money system has ever survived for long, no governing system dedicated to its own powers and preservation, rather than the protection of those powers possessed by the people, has ever not ultimately devolved into tyranny. After two years of COVID-1984 madness, the reckless attempts by one-world-government globalists to expand and sustain their leverage through a "Great Reset," and the coming currency collapse and food shortages they've intentionally set into motion, the fruits of that tyranny are visible all around us.

What happens next is entirely in our hands. The more Westerners understand what the Marxist globalists have wrought, the more unwilling they will be to allow those same Marxist globalists to remain in power after our current troubles pass. When that time does arrive, Americans will benefit most by returning to the principles of government that first set them free. Other Western nations wishing to prosper would do well to follow in America's footsteps. And the Big Government parasites that have long worked to precipitate our current calamities would be wise to take seriously their dwindling options: get lost, get out of the way, or get run over.

                            • Why Energy Security Is National Security

In December 2008, Marine Corps Gen. James Jones (retired) wrote in a Wall Street Journal article that “You can’t use the word energy independence. It is not a valid phrase. It is designed to excite people. But it is simply not going to happen.” That was a factually unsupported statement then, and remains so. At the time that Jones made this pronouncement, the U.S. Minerals Management Service was estimating that there were approximately 18 billion barrels (BBls) of oil and 77 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas in the Outer Continental Shelf. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimated that there were at least 10.6 BBls of oil and 8.6 Tcf of gas in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The potential for U.S. dominance has not abated. Texas, which currently leads U.S. states in oil production, has massive proven oil (11.1 BBls) and gas (93.5 Tcf) reserves. North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Colorado round out the top five in terms of oil production. Crude oil is produced in 32 states. The top five natural gas-producing states are Texas, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. Wyoming leads in coal production, and West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and North Dakota are critical coal-producing states as well. In 2019 it was estimated that Wyoming had 1.4 trillion tons of total coal resources.

The USGS has estimated there are likely 1 billion pounds of known and potential resources of uranium in deposits throughout Texas, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Arizona. Uranium is used in the 93 operable nuclear reactors in the United States, providing 20 percent of the nation’s electricity. Although the United States led global uranium production in 1980, almost none is being produced domestically today. Almost 50 percent of our uranium fuel supplies now come from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The United States has massive amounts of domestic energy that we can produce right here, thereby creating thousands of jobs and enriching our economy.

                              Moving U.S. Energy Dominance Backward

In 2018, the United States became the largest crude oil producer in the world, becoming energy independent for the first time in more than 60 years. That feat defied Jones’s predictions from ten years earlier and was accomplished through technological advances, as well as the pursuit of a public policy focused on energy dominance and the recognition that developing domestic energy supplies is always in the best interests of our country. In just the last year we have gone from a 4 percent surplus of domestic oil and gas production to a 4 percent deficit — a swing of 8 percent in 12 short months. This state of affairs did not happen by accident or because of a lack of readily and economically accessible energy resources. We have more than enough oil, natural gas, coal, and uranium to power this country into the distant future, and the technology to do so, while protecting our environment. This situation is instead the direct result of the misguided and destructive federal policy decisions that do nothing to protect the environment while empowering Russia to advance its plans for regional and international dominance.

It’s Hard to Come Up with a Worse Energy Policy

It is important to note that Congress had no involvement with the decision to instantaneously reverse the United States from energy independence back to energy dependence. This loss was not due to a change in the laws that apply to our energy industries. Nor was it because of new developments exposing additional dangers in fracking, oil production, coal mining, or construction of the related infrastructure (such as pipelines or deep-water ports). We are in this situation for one simple reason: the current administration has chosen to punish America. It has put us last on the world stage, placing an embargo on new energy development here while enriching and empowering Russia to produce even more oil and natural gas to meet world demand, at the very time that Russia is invading the independent country of Ukraine. Our energy policy, in other words, is not only making us poorer, causing rampant inflation, and weakening our position in the world, it is enriching and empowering one of the few countries on earth that is willing to invade another sovereign nation based on recognizing that the only countries that could stop its advance depend on it for their energy. This administration was importing 600,000 barrels of oil a day from Russia, an amount that could have easily been replaced by the 800,000 barrels of oil a day to be carried by the Keystone XL pipeline, which President Biden killed with a stroke of his pen on his first day in office. Meanwhile, President Biden has approved billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine.

Paying for Both Sides of the War

To be more blunt: we are paying for both sides of the land war currently raging across eastern Europe, all because of the misguided energy policies of this administration. The U.S. ruling class and their counterparts in Europe have, for the last 30 years, pursued a pact of mutual destruction, hollowing out our core of energy, food, and intellectual independence. We have empowered federal agencies to make law, enforce “laws” that don’t exist, declare millions of acres of land off-limits to access and production, and compromise private property and water rights. The Biden administration has tried to convince people that we can continue to enjoy our historically high standard of living while destroying everything that makes that standard of living possible.

                              Dependent on Totalitarians

The world stage is now set: Our “liberal democracies” are dependent on totalitarian and destructive regimes, and the mad dash to try to deflect from that reality has begun. The saber-rattling, the tough talk, and the genuflection to “world order” are designed to gloss over the fact that if Western democracies had not chosen to destroy our energy independence, we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. This is not complicated for those of us who have even the most basic understanding of reality. If you are dependent on another country to supply you with energy, they will control your policy. If you are dependent on another country to supply you with food, they will control your policy. If you are dependent on another country to supply you with everything your society needs to live (pharmaceuticals, etc.), they will control your policy.

Stated even more succinctly: Energy dependence = energy insecurity; energy insecurity = instability; instability = empowerment of rogue nations. We are not going to get out of this quagmire anytime soon. We can, however, use all of our tools to expose how those energy policies that weaken America will ultimately strengthen countries that are willing to invade another country. If we want to restrain tyranny, we must produce our own energy. If we want to enable tyrants, we continue down the path of dependence on their energy production.

                              • Poll: 63% of Americans say Putin 'cannot remain in power'

As the war in Ukraine grinds on, a full 63% of Americans now say they agree that Russian President Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power,” according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll. Just 14% disagree. The rest (23%) are not sure.

IMO... that's 63% who think they know everything... when in reality... they know nothing!!!

All I can say is that I wish I smart enough to know everything about the goping ons of all the world affairs from just sitting in the comfort of my own living room!!!

Well... atleast on the bright side... we have 23% capable of rational thinking.
