As the Republic dies, Congress bathes in self-pity

The sea of protesters spanning from the Capitol Building's lawn to the Washington monument the afternoon of January 6 was profound to say the least. Their message was direct and patriotic: the people demanded their voices and votes be heard by members of Congress. The actions and statements made by members of Congress on the House floor late into the night Wednesday and early in the morning hours of Thursday would indicate that the voice of the people shall not be tolerated and that they, the members of Congress, were the victims of what unfolded during the protest. D.C. police reported the deaths of four Americans who attended the D.C. protest. Three died due to "medical emergencies," and one was shot by a member of the Capitol Police. The victim, reported by The Gateway Pundit, was 14-year USAF veteran Ashli Babbitt. Ashli Babbitt had no weapon other than a Trump flag worn as a cape and a patriotic backpack. From the heart-wrenching video (viewer discretion advised), it appears as though Ashli was attempting to clime through a window to gain further access to the Capitol Building.

Call them what you wish, but there is evidence that members of both sides of the political argument stormed the Capitol Building. In contrast to the months of rioting last year by the militant left, the aftermath of Wednesday's protest in D.C. did not yield buildings being burnt to the ground and law enforcement utilizing "kid gloves" with protesters. Certainly, no members of Congress were harmed or in imminent danger of harm due to the absence of weapons by protesters. Apparently, the member of the Capitol Police who chose to discharge his weapon drew the line in the sand for entry to the People's House. Nearly all members of Congress released statements and included in their electoral count speeches reactions to what unfolded at the Capitol Building. It was entirely clear, after listening to several speeches from members of Congress, that the body of 1,000,000-plus American citizens gathered in D.C. was to be equated with the few who engaged police and entered the Capitol Building. Members of Congress spoke empty words decrying the violence, condemning and blaming the president, and worried about themselves. They had every negative word for the body of people gathered at the capital they could muster. Those who traveled from all corners of the country who peacefully protested were given no credence, certainly not the title "patriot." Congressmen complained that they were the victims because they had to hide under a desk and take refuge from unarmed people entering the People's House.

The deaths that occurred during the protest are tragic. Ashli Babbitt defended the country and all members of the legislative body while serving in the USAF only to be struck down for her crime of entering the People's House. The other death that occurred is that of our constitutional republic. There can be no constitutional republic, a representative form of limited government, when there are no longer free and honest elections. Those who live their lives within the lines drawn on a map labeled "United States of America" are now sheep, with the wolves deciding what will be served for dinner. The voices and vote of the people no longer matter. The primary goal of government is now those in the government. Congress has made it clear that it will not tolerate the will of the people. D.C. police have made it abundantly clear that entry into the People's House will be on their terms.

What is unclear is the reaction, if any, from the American people. The words I heard spoken by many leaving the Capitol grounds Wednesday are not appropriate for print. However, many statements began with "Congress has refused to listen to the people."The sea of protesters spanning from the Capitol Building's lawn to the Washington monument the afternoon of January 6 was profound to say the least.

Who Objected To The Electoral College Count

Only six senators, all Republicans, sustained the Arizona objection. Here's a look at those six senators who maintained their course...

    1. Josh Hawley, Missouri
    2. Ted Cruz, Texas
    3. Tommy Tuberville, Alabama
    4. Roger Marshall, Kansas
    5. John Kennedy, Louisiana
    6. Cindy Hyde-Smith, Mississippi

House members also objected in the cases of Georgia, Michigan and Nevada, but no senator joined in the objection, thereby preventing debate.

The only other state disputed with support from both chambers was Pennsylvania; 138 House members, all Republicans, supported the objection, as did seven senators: Cruz, R-Texas; Hawley, R-Mo.; Hyde Smith, R-Miss.; Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo.; Marshall, R-Kan.; Tuberville, R-Ala.; and Rick Scott, R-Fla.

I don't think they are gonna take your guns but I do believe they are gonna make it hard for you to own guns.. I have read stories about how they want to do it.. Having a high tax on ammo and a yearly tax on the guns you already own.. They know they cannot take away Americans guns but they can make it difficult financially to own one..

                Re: Our Dying Republic

The ruling class beat Trump. Now it's salting the earth.

Donald Trump has the distinction of being the first challenger to our political ruling class in my lifetime. This ruling class is not strictly party-related. It comprises a broad array of Democrats (almost all of them), Republicans (a significant number of them), the media (the propaganda ministry), and bureaucrats (those faceless government employees who formed the "resistance" against the will of the people). The Donald challenged their power, and now they're exacting their revenge. Whether fairly or fraudulently, he's been defeated for re-election, but that's not enough. Now his legacy must be destroyed and his supporters crushed. The ruling class is determined to ensure that no form of Trumpism or any challenge to their authority ever rises again. Ancient mythology holds that conquering armies would salt the earth of beaten civilizations. This salting was a curse to forestall any future re-habitation. It was meant to ensure that a beaten civilization would never again challenge the victor. The beaten were to stay beaten.

We've reached the "salt the earth" stage of the ruling class's victory over the Trump movement. Democrats are demanding that President Trump be removed from office, via impeachment or the 25th Amendment — just two weeks before the end of his term. Twitter has banned him for life. Representative Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) has even submitted legislation to prohibit federal buildings from ever being named after Donald Trump. It's not enough that he was defeated for re-election; he must also be humiliated. There's even a report that a U.S. attorney is conducting a criminal investigation into whether Donald Trump incited a riot with his speech on January 6. Is it so unbelievable that Donald Trump could be indicted after leaving office? Isn't it alarming that an indictment, for making a speech, is even conceivable? But after seeing him impeached for a phone call, it doesn't seem so incredible, does it?

As for his followers, they're going to get theirs, too. We're seeing that in the coverage of the January 6 U.S. Capitol protest. It's being billed as an unprecedented violent assault on our democracy. We don't know yet who caused the violence, and there is some doubt that it was instigated by the Trump-supporters. But there was nothing unprecedented about it. Violent protests torched Washington, D.C. on the day of Donald Trump's inauguration — with never a single word of condemnation from any Democrat. This is the ruling class working in conjunction with their propaganda ministry to create the narrative that Trump-supporters are all unhinged lunatics. And since they're all unhinged lunatics, the flight attendants' union is now demanded that everyone in attendance at the January 6 protest be placed on the "no fly list." Why is it not disturbing to everyone that this would even be considered a reasonable response to a political protest?

The ruling class's message is clear: "challenge us again at your own peril." In just a few short years, U.S. politics has taken a disturbing turn. Politics is no longer the competition of ideas. For the ruling class, conservatives are no longer political opponents; we are enemies of the state. Calls for unity and civility are transparently hypocritical. Our rulers don't want unity; they want submission. Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for our rulers, we still value liberty above all else. Will things stay peaceful? I hope so. But only time will tell. The only certainty is that we the people will prevail. Buckle up.

                      Re: Our Dying Republic

                      Our Leaders Have Betrayed Us

I’ll wager that 75 million of us have followed pretty closely the drama of the past two months, so there’s no need to recount the claims and counterclaims of election fraud. The Democrats can say what they want, and pound it into us with the sledgehammers of the national media and Big Tech: they still have failed to convince us that we are wrong. What we have seen over the past two months goes way beyond dismay or disbelief. What we have witnessed is the utter collapse of the foundational institutions of our republic. The national GOP, to its credit, saw it coming. Starting early last year, they spent tens of millions of dollars to wage legal battles against Democrat party efforts to change the way our elections were conducted. If you look at their list of “victories,” you would think the GOP had succeeded in courts across this country in preserving free and fair elections. But you would be wrong.

They merely succeeded in defeating the outliers of the Democrat scheme, the outrageous bits they used to distract us, such as extending the vote for days and even weeks after Election Day. They didn’t care about that. The GOP leadership failed to block – or missed entirely - the very real and illegal efforts by Democrat state officials, state courts, governors and non-profits to generalize mail-in ballots, hold ballot-harvesting “events” in public parks, and remove or weaken signature verification. So well before the election, the GOP failed us. And the courts failed us. The Republican-led state legislatures also failed us, by nonchalantly observing this multi-pronged attack by the Democrats to remove all the fail-safe mechanisms protecting voter integrity.

Many of us who watched the post-election testimony of Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, Colonel Philip Waldron, Jovan Pulitzer and others before state legislative committees in Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania and elsewhere were heartened at what appeared to be the sympathetic response of Republican legislators. Instead, we should have been appalled -- because they should have known all this beforehand. They should have fixed these problems, restored the fail-safes and reasserted their constitutional authority while there was still time. So well before the election and afterwards, the state legislatures failed us.

The sycophantic media didn’t fail us because they abandoned their duty to inform the public a generation ago when they became the communications arm of the Democrat party. Still, it shocked and dismayed many of us to watch Fox News join the Fake News media cabal on Election Night. Justice, judges and their courts failed us after the elections on at least 62 occasions, never allowing a single evidentiary hearing with the cross-examination of witnesses who had provided sworn affidavits of election fraud they personally had observed in eight states.

Think of that. The media tells us there was “zero evidence” of election fraud, and now Nancy Pelosi and her Ministry of Truth wants to make acceptance of that lie a prerequisite to serving in Congress, while Big Tech is banning even ordinary citizens from their First Amendment rights for even questioning it. We the People who pay taxes so others can cower in their basements in fear, We the Deplorables who still believe in truth, have stood back and observed as every institution of our democratic Republic has shriveled and apparently died. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and the national media are trying to govern as a one-party state. What fail-safes, if any, do we have left? This is the anguished cry I hear from all across America. Are there enough Republican politicians with guts and imagination to keep us from tearing each other apart?

                          Re: Our Dying Republic

                          Our Mounting Orwellian Nightmare

So we are to imagine that those who objected to Biden's having stolen the election are responsible for the violence at the Capitol? And that, going forward, any public official who questions Biden's win should be removed from office, and that any corporate leader who objects should be fired? All this when the truth is that Trump in all likelihood won the election. It is the perfect example of Orwellian speech. In his classic essay "Politics and the English Language," Orwell spoke of the condition where "words and meaning have almost parted company." If that "almost" is a measure of Orwellian speech, then today's Democrat leaders are beyond Orwellian. Their words and meaning have parted company entirely.

As Orwell also stressed, the decline of language is both cause and effect of the decline of politics. When politicians and media begin speaking nonsense, it is the symptom of an underlying corruption of political thinking. The idea that the president should be removed from office for having defended the electoral process is truly bizarre, but it has been repeated throughout the liberal media and by most liberal politicians and even by some conservatives.

One might say progressives like Nancy Pelosi have become "unhinged," but that would let them off the hook. It would suggest that they don't quite realize what they are doing. But what they are doing is the result of crafty political calculation. They want to tie President Trump with the Capitol violence to the point that he can never run again. The same political deviousness lies behind suggestions that he should not be in control of the nation's nuclear arsenal because of his supposed mental instability.

The coordinated effort to impeach and convict the president is nothing less than a propaganda campaign, and the associated suppression of free speech on social media and elsewhere is the beginning of a dangerous national decline. It's not possible to say where it will end, but we must be entirely clear about what is happening. A progressive government will attempt to further limit free speech, assembly, religious expression, gun rights, access to employment, and other basic liberties. Progressives have already threatened conservatives with prosecution and imprisonment for the "crime" of denying anthropogenic global warming and for questioning the result of the 2020 election. What's next? The persecution of every American conservative in the same way that Gen. Flynn was persecuted?

                            A Dangerous World

While the incoming kakistocracy is ridding the country of a treacherous evil — registered Republicans — the world’s real villains are patiently waiting for President “Insurrection” to leave Dodge. Lost in their hatred induced psychosis is that the bad actors of the world have been largely kept at bay by a shrewd champion of peace through strength. We’ve seen ISIS dismantled, Iran crippled by sanctions, North Korea’s belligerence subdued, and the impossible, peace spreading throughout the Middle East.

The Democrats’ all-consuming pathological myopia has caused them to lose touch with that global reality, no doubt assured their resplendence will usher in a new woke utopia. Forgotten is that the world is full of other delusional tyrants, each with his own plan for subjugating free men to his inviolate vision. Here’s a reminder of what awaits the anointed once they’ve finished re-educating the new American Uyghers.

From desperate militant nations, we can expect desperate militant actions. Hard choices will need to be made — continue with military and economic pressure until the despotic theocracy suffocates on its own iniquity or appease the savage in hopes you’ll guide him back to civility. History is replete with example after example of the latter leading to enormous human suffering, yet Biden has filled his cabinet with Obama holdovers who have no stomach for the former.

While our nation is consumed with exacting its own vengeance on anyone daring to object to the incoming party’s ideology through an orchestrated network of censorship, blacklisting, and intimidation, as well as dividing the country with humiliating the outgoing president with a meaningless impeachment, the threatening storm of a dangerous world is becoming more emboldened. Worse yet, having abandoned freedom for its own citizens, it is hard to envision this administration, when faced with hard choices, taking any action to preserve it for others. When America stops being the beacon of liberty for the world, a pandemic of despotism will sweep across the globe — one whose cure lies not in a miracle vaccine but in the blood of brave men.

I never heard of the word kakistocracy before when I read the article so I looked it up...

IMO... that's exactly what's coming our way tomorrow so it's now wonder why they orchestrated a network of censorship, blacklisting, and intimidation before the inauguration.

I learned a new word today so get used to me using it because it sure will come in handy when describing this administration!!!
