  • Big Tech, Social media and the government

What we are witnessing in todays world is what the people of China, Iran and North Korea have been doing to their people for decades since social media first started.. Censorship.. Is this the world we want to live in?? Twitter, Facebook and other Social media outlets have been censoring content on their platforms for quite a few months now.. It has really come out of the closet since the Chinese Coronavirus first started.. With the virus we had people in Twitter and Facebook deleting posts from Doctors because as they say it doesn't meet the standards or their fact checkers said it wasn't true.. Many of these so called fact checkers have been proven wrong.. Yet the High Tech companies stand by them because they are pushing a narrative and their fact checkers are just a tool that they use.. Now to the present day and the 2020 election mess.. Twitter first suspended the account of President Trump and after cries from Michele Obama they permanently deactivated his account.. This is what this country is coming to .. There are reasons that Big Tech did not want Trump to win the election.. He was one way or another gonna take away their protections. Other wise known as section 230.. For me?? I have been what some people call "a time out" of Facebook groups and on this forum as well.. Why?? because someone didn't like what I posted?? Power?? To me it seems the word "Power" is at the top of the list.. I have the "power" to control what is posted or said.. Last night Apple removed Parler [another social media platform] from their app store as did Google.. Big tech is trying to silence Americans in any way they can and IMO under Biden and Harris they will succeed.. Maybe they can call us China west. Our first amendments are being taken away..

I do believe that when all the dust settles there will be a new social media player brought to you by Trump.. Or maybe he buys one..

And it looks like Twitter may be it's own enemy too...

Did Twitter cut its own throat in banning President Trump?

Was banning President Trump good for Twitter, given its pious partisan reasons? Trump, after all, had tens of millions of followers, and getting rid of him means less traffic to the site. Did banning Trump enhance Twitter's shareholder value? Or did it put Twitter a few steps closer to going the way of MySpace?

It's too soon to say at this point, but there are oodles of evidence that the picture isn't pretty.

Take the company's stock price. Which way did it go after they banned Trump? Down.

And if "we the deplorables" are free to keep on posting like we have been without even being challenged... TOL... just might find themselves on that "hit list' to be censored. Don't worry Jimmy... we won't abandon you and leave you all alone in the fight to restore this site and free yourself from those SOB's clutches.

But if that ends up happening... please start the crusade with NewsMax or Oann... not CNN... MSNBC... ABC... CBS or NBC.

ABC News Calls For "Cleansing" Of Trump Supporters

As part of the Democratic Party, establishment media and Washington swamp campaign to tear down the legacy of President Donald Trump this week, the political director for ABC News called for a “cleansing” of Trump’s movement.

Rick Klein, who is the rudder on the corrupt ABC News political coverage ship, must have been feeling awfully emboldened Thursday after Democrat Joe Biden was officially certified as the country’s next president. Perhaps a little too emboldened, as is evident by what he said on Twitter.

“Trump will be an ex-president in 13 days. The fact is that getting rid of Trump is the easy part. Cleansing the movement he commands is going to be something else,” Klein said in a tweet, which he later deleted.

                Biden-Big Tech-Big Media Dictatorship Begins

The move to remake America as a fascist state has begun.

                Now it begins.

                * Apple bans Parler, the conservative Twitter, from its app store.

                * Google bans Parler from its app store.

                * Twitter bans the President of the United States.

                * Twitter locks Dan Bongino’s account for sharing the video message from President Trump.

                • Simon and Schuster refuse to publish Senator Josh Hawley’s book “The Tyranny of Big Tech”, which they had contracted to print. Hawley said in the book, according to a blurb, that Big Tech “represents the gravest threat to American liberty since the monopolies of the Gilded Age.”

                • Republican attorney Cleta Mitchell is forced out of her law firm for advising President Trump.

                • CNN is trying to get television carriers to knock Fox, Newsmax and One America News off their platforms.

                • Lists are being compiled of Trump supporters, with open threats to deny them jobs and future employment.

                • Joe Biden compares Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley to Nazis.

This, my fellow Americans, is what a dictatorship looks like. In this case, it is what the Joe Biden-Big Tech-Big Media alliance looks like.

Make no mistake, this is flat out fascism. And it has been brewing in the precincts of the American Left for several years.

Free Speech Platform Gab Reports 750% Increase in Traffic

Gab.com, the free speech friendly social network, says traffic has increased by more than 750 percent in the past few days, following the blacklisting of President Donald Trump from most mainstream tech platforms. The free speech network announced that it would bring ten new servers online to handle the increased traffic volume. Gab was the first free speech alternative to Twitter. It takes a hardline stance on freedom of speech, allowing all legal content except pornography. Users are allowed to control their own experience on the platform through the creation of custom word filters and blocks. Gab takes an equally hardline stance on illegal content and threats of violence, encouraging users to proactively report such content for removal.Despite this longstanding policy, both Apple and Google have, for years banned the Gab app from their app stores, a fate which has also befallen Parler.“Our traffic is up 753% in the past 24 hours. Tens of millions of visits,” said Gab in response to a question about slow loading speeds.

Launched in May 2017, Gab has faced attempted censorship and suppression from multiple quarters, leading to innovative approaches to circumvent it.To avoid censorship by cloud hosting companies, Gab maintains its own physical servers. Gab is also in the process of developing the Gab phone, to circumvent app store censorship. Gab also developed Dissenter, a browser extension that adds a comments section to every website on the internet. When mainstream browsers like Chrome and Mozilla Firefox banned the extension, Gab launched its own web browser, also called Dissenter.

In response to the surge in traffic, Gab founder and CEO Andrew Torba gave a concise comment to Breitbart News:

                  “Checkmate, Silicon Valley.”

I registered with all three ,Parler , Mewe and Gab.. It is a little difficult trying to get around but have a few friends that are there also.. Mewe does have more than a few with the conspiracies but it is up to you to check to see if they are true or not.. The one story that Strapppy posted about in Italy Gate thread was on their for a few days now.. And if you go on DuckDuckgo for a search engine they have a whole lot more than what google gives you.. That story is real.. And that is what the rest of the world see.. This country is being censored.. On a Teamster site on Facebook they were marveling how big tech is trying to take down Parler.. Uneducated or uninformed is what I see.. There side one {IMO} with the help with cheating and now they believe the sky will be blue for the next four years..

Big Tech under more fire for removing President Trump’s accounts

Supporters and non-supporters of President Trump are speaking out against Big Tech’s far-reaching ability to censor people. “Facebook, Twitter, they all took down the President’s accounts,” Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow said. “They took down Sydney Powell’s. They took down General Flynn’s, all my friends are out there. So many that are in the media, they took down theirs. They took them all. We had all social platforms so they’re not going to be able to get these messages out there, and it’s their livelihood. This is the danger we’re in right now.” A lawyer for the ACLU condemned social media companies, namely Facebook and Twitter, for the move, saying it’s concerning that these companies wield the unchecked power to remove people from their platforms that have become indispensable for the speech of billions.

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who’s been an outspoken critic of the President, questioned the move. She claimed it targets people on the right or those who are not woke.

Nunes - “So, I don’t know where the hell the Department of Justice is right now or the FBI. This is clearly a violation of antitrust, civil rights, the RICO statute. There should be a racketeering investigation on all the people that coordinated this attack on not only a company but on all of those like us, like me, like you, Maria…These CEOs who are doing this should be prosecuted criminally.” “I’ve been talking to many of my colleagues, Republicans on the House side and a couple Senators…The Supreme Court, these federal judges, have got to step in.”
Like anyone will believe that will have a snowball's chance in hell of actually happening!!!

That's the problem today... the republicans talk a righteous game while the democrats actually act on a corrupt one... then they wonder how they got in such a despicable state!!!

Re: Big Tech, Social media and the government

To this day I always believed Al Gore invented the Internet.. Although I read it "on" the internet it was fake news.. Now comes along the real inventor of the internet and he doesn't seem to like the way the internet today is being censored.. It was suppose to be free and not censored so what does he do?? Another world wide internet..

The Guy Who Built The World Wide Web Is Building A 'New Internet', Where You Control Your Data

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know Tim Berners-Lee is a pretty important dude in the technology world. He's the father of the Internet, responsible for the birth of the World Wide Web as we know it.

And he hates what it has become. So he's taking some action to fix it.
You see, for years now Berners-Lee has expressed his distaste at how major corporations have taken what was supposed to be a free environment and placed restrictions on it. He doesn’t like how groups like Facebook, Google, and Amazon have effectively centralized the Internet, nor how they control people’s data. So he’s instead working on a new platform and startup that’s declaring war on Big Tech.
Inrupt is a startup that Berners-Lee has been working on in stealth for about nine months. He’s even taken a sabbatical from his prestigious position teaching at MIT’s CSAIL labs in order to work full time. And Inrupt will finally launch to the world this week, Berners-Lee told Fast Company in an exclusive interview.
