  • The American Divide..

Over the last decade we have seen this country being torn apart from the inside.. From Obama going on his apology tour to Trump getting elected in 2016.. Families and friends that no longer talk politics or even worse they don't talk with each other anymore.. I have seen it on this forum and it continues today.. I was never really political until I retired and had time to see what was going on in the country..And the more time I spent on this forum I could see what was going on.. The right blames the left and the left blames the right as both sides go further right or left.. I was a life long Democrat until Bill Clinton came along. Voted for Perot but that didn't work out.. That is when I registered as an Independent until 2016 when I registered as a republican so I could vote for Trump in the primary here in PA.. The Democratic party I belonged to as did my father is long gone.. But since being retired I have seen exactly what the Liberal far left Democrats do.. They will accuse you of something they are already guilty of and that is also common on here.. Over the years on this forum I had made many friends or at least I thought I had.. Most of them left the forum although I don't know for sure if the ones that left earlier was about politics or not..But I do know that over the last year or so since Jimmy changed the rules that a few more left because of what is my opinion that the narrative could not be controlled by those on the left.. More than a few times on this forum I was called a racist because I supported Trumps border agenda.. But then back then the main stream media was doing the same thing..If you supported the border policies of then President Trump you were labeled as a racist.. A hater.. and a few more names to go with it..As far as the members that left because of politics?? I would love to see them come back and have conversations , not shouting matches.. Not the "I don't like what you posted so you are an idiot" bullshit.. I am sure if FX reads this he will put his famous LOL on it.. But I do hope he comes and joins the conversation.. Same goes for Lifer.. There used to be a rule on here that you could attack the post but not the poster.. That like the Democratic party I belonged to is long gone. And I am probably guilty of this as well.. Let's bring this forum back to life..

    Re: The American Divide..

The collective insanity that's rapidly erasing America

Many of us older than half a century no longer recognize the country we grew up in. We have a hard time reconciling that past America with what we see happening today. America, to our view, was predominantly a place of light, freedom, and joy. Now, as we witness a massing storm of iniquity, we either don't understand what we're seeing or choke back the language to describe it because the words all sound too harsh or politically incorrect. We look for other demons to blame such as socialism and Marxism, and while they are definitely part of the problem, what now haunts us is even darker than those malignancies.

This baleful presence has been gathering over the American landscape for some time and the pandemic provided just the right catalyst for it to become a clear and present danger. It would now take an act of will to ignore its existence, but we still, too often, turn our faces away.

The individuals who make up the component parts of this devilry may believe that they act out of good intentions, but the sum of those parts empowers an evil system of racism, corruption, and violence. It is an evil that is largely driven by a lust for absolute political power and complete control over the individual. The modern world has seen this storm before, and we ignore it to our great peril.

This plague on our society has pushed us to many forms of mass hysteria:

    * We shun those who do not comply with outrageous and unconstitutional mandates.
    * We blindly believe government officials and their allies in the media, though they have proven time and again that they lie and should not be trusted.
    * We're emptying our jails of violent offenders while imprisoning law-abiding citizens — sometimes for simply exercising their rights.
    * We're taking political prisoners like any third-world dictatorship.
    * We allow our cities to be torched and looted with few repercussions.
    * We're tearing down our history, our culture, and our traditions in the name of progressivism.
    * We invite seemingly anyone who wants to enter the country illegally to take our jobs, receive public services, and drag down wages.
    * Our national debt reaches into the stratosphere while politicians go whistling past the graveyard.
    * We abort the innocent and defenseless while vigorously defending the guiltiest among us.
    * We scare our children into radicalism with tales of impending doom due to climate changes that are as old as the Earth.
    * We're wrecking entire industries to "protect the Earth" while propping up those same endeavors for our enemies.
    * We deny biological realities and allow men to use women's facilities and participate in women's activities, provided that they "self-identify" as women.
    * We subject the military to ideological litmus tests.
    * We fraudulently change election results while casting those who push for transparency as "conspiracy advocates" and add their names to a list of domestic terrorists.
    * We allow the government to censor those who oppose the lunacy that passes for public policy.
    * We teach dependency and hatred at many school districts across the country, and within our colleges and universities.
    * We accuse, disarm, and punish the law-abiding while acquitting the guilty.

This is the short list of our collective insanity. We deny science in the name of science. We obfuscate truth for the purpose of compliance, conformity, and profit. We have forsaken the Constitution to silence and disarm our population. We deny God and accommodate evil.

This darkness will continue to spread until people inside the government are willing to identify and confront it. There are a few brave souls who are standing against the madness, but most still shrink from that responsibility. If they do not act, this burden will eventually fall to the American people but by that time, and at immense cost to all, the world's great experiment in freedom and self-government will likely be teetering on the brink of extinction.

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." —Edmund Burke

      Re: The American Divide..

The founder of Dubai,Sheikh Rashid, was asked about the future of his country(just substitute America),and in absolute simple brilliance,he replied...

''My grandfather rode a camel,my father rode a camel,I ride a Mercedes,my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover, but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again''...Why is that,he was asked?,and his reply was...

''Hard times create strong men...Strong men create easy times...Easy times create weak men...Weak men create difficult times...Many will not understand it,but you have to raise warriors, not parasites''...

Now add to that the historical reality that ALL great 'empires',the Persians, the Trojans, the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, and in later years the British, all rose and ''perished'' within 240 years...Each ''rotted from within''...America has now passed that 240 year mark, and the 'ROT' is visible all around us and now accelerating rapidly...WE are past the Mercedes and Land Rover years, and the 'CAMELS' are in OUR YARDS....God help US!!!!!

        Re: The American Divide..

‘Where Are The Admirals? Where Are The Generals? Where Are the Veterans?’

On 17 August 1955, President Dwight D. Eisenhower prescribed a Code of Conduct for members of the Armed Forces of the United States. The purpose was to inform each service member in a combat unit about their basic responsibilities when engaged in combat or if they were captured by enemy forces. Of the six articles, the first and sixth articles are particularly powerful reminders about the Armed Forces’ mission and the dedication each member requires to complete that mission:

        Article 1

I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

        Article 6

I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
It’s a matter of primary importance when recruiting a skilled and talented all-volunteer military force that the institution and its members, along with the desire to serve our country, firmly believe in America’s unique and moral character and the freedoms from which we all benefit. Along with these beliefs and desires, each member of the military must also develop a strong loyalty to his or her brothers and sisters in arms. These tenets are foundational to a purposeful, effective fighting force. To go into combat, one must fully believe that the United States’ cause and purpose are just and morally upright. The mission must be clear: To fight and win. Each person serving must see fellow service members as integral and necessary parts of this mission. Studies of 20th-century wars, especially the experiences of those captured and held as prisoners of war, have repeatedly shown that this foundational relationship between fellow service members, their belief in the cause for which they are fighting, and their belief in the United States of America are all vitally important to survival.

As a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, I was taught this Code of Conduct and instructed in the responsibilities that accompanied my service. These Core Values enabled me to develop attitudes and behaviors that embody and represent the best of America’s values and founding principles. During my time in the Navy, fairness, equity, and equal opportunity were integral to the service and were relentlessly instilled in the military’s culture. Perhaps just as importantly, I have seen the concomitant diversity that is the natural by-product of this culture, because it rewards hard work, talent, and ability for their own sake, for their undeniable merit, and for the betterment and preservation of America itself.Given the inherent and undeniable virtues of this colorblind, merit-based system based upon shared values, the Armed Forces of the United States travel a pernicious and destructive path if they embrace Critical Race Theory, with its core belief that America and her citizenry are irredeemably racist, along with the tenets of “white supremacy,” “whiteness,” “white privilege,” “white fragility,” and “systemic” or “institutional racism.”

Critical Race Theory does not build up, it tears down. There is nothing aspirational or uplifting about it. And as a springboard to establishing “diversity” as a goal unto itself, as its own concurrent priority, inculcating those values into troops will not equip the military to succeed at its first, and most important goal, which is to fight and win in armed conflict.

Critical Race Theory is antithetical to the principles each military branch teaches, particularly in “boot camp” or “basic training.” This entry-level training -- and the arduous nature of the entire indoctrination into military service -- must necessarily diminish each recruit’s or candidate’s individual identity and replace it with the aspirational goal of becoming part of a successful, elite team with its own service’s unique culture and esprit de corps.

Critical Race Theory, by contrast, undermines the necessary team building and teaches that all interactions with others will be based solely according to race. Nothing could be further from reality when each branch of service in the Armed Forces properly acts in accordance with its core values and the guiding principles that have made America truly exceptional in human history.

So, given this deviation from core principles, I must ask: “Where are the Admirals?” “Where are the Generals?” Just as importantly, where are my fellow veterans, and why are we allowing what all should recognize as a crass, purely political, fraudulent, and destructive ideology to erode the foundations of military service and success? Why are we silent while these toxic and corrosive ideals are taught to our Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guards? The Armed Forces have an undeniable history of equal opportunities for advancement and achievement for all who serve. Therefore, Critical Race Theory has no value as a course of instruction for the military services because this history proves that neither America nor her military are “irredeemably racist” cultures or institutions. To the contrary, our already diverse military’s undeniable success provides its own irrefutable testimony to the greatness of the nation the military’s members take an oath to defend -- with their own lives, if necessary. My “real-world” experience has shown me that all unit commanders who consistently enforce Constitutional principles and sticks strictly with the core values and guiding principles that define their branch of service will avoid any race defining or determining outcomes. The United States military’s command structure and meritocracy -- the merit-based system of performance evaluation and promotion – have guaranteed in the past, and will continue to guarantee in the future, an overwhelmingly “color-blind” system of achievement that benefits not only the individual, but the Team, and our country.

If the American military, in connection with its primary mission to fight and win, desires to field a military force (and promote leaders from within its ranks) that reflects more closely the racial distribution in America, it must begin now, with young people, to recruit and inform America’s youth about the high calling and the unique opportunities associated with military service. Our children must know they have a Future Story. That story leads to hope and aspirational goals that are greater than themselves. They must be taught why America is exceptional, making it a beacon of freedom in the world, and why we as a nation have the high calling to actively advocate -- and sometimes to fight -- for the freedoms we hold so dear. If America expects to continue to field a military force that is second-to-none in its talent, technology, and ability to win, America must raise up the patriots who will be willing to serve the nation and serve alongside their brothers and sisters from all walks of life, from every corner, every avenue, hill, and dale of the nation.

Critical Race Theory, which is predicated on misrepresenting America’s history and culture inter-changeably as “systemically racist” or “institutionally racist,” and which blames these factors for every societal ill and unequal outcome, is a divisive and destructive lie. There is nothing inherent in these ideologies, these attitudes, and the hatred for America they espouse that is beneficial to anyone, much less to the United States military. So, again I need to say it…I need to ask: Where are the Admirals? Where are the Generals? Where are my fellow Veterans? Why are we allowing this racist cancer to infect the ranks of the most educated, most talented, and most lethal military to ever exist in human history?

          Re: The American Divide..

No, Nope, No: It Is Not Time for a Civil War

Charlie Kirk was asked recently, at one of his lectures, whether now is a good time to "use the guns." He answered that it isn't, and I agree with him but only partially for the reasons he stated. Simply put, the idea that right-wingers could start a revolution and win one, at this point in history, is comedy — and no, I don't care if that's the sole reason we have a Second Amendment and we have more AR-15s. First off, we don't own any of the institutions — including any branches of the military, which, although staffed with lots of great and respectable men, are currently run by woman-drafters, white-shamers, and tranny-loving butt-kissers.

I would add to this that social and big media are owned almost entirely by the left wing, which means we have no platform to mass-communicate. Do we run the CIA, or the FBI, or any national organization built to maintain law and order in a crisis? No — all of it is in possession of the left wing, which gives leftists a clear advantage in organization and persecution. More importantly, I would posit that these United States are so completely interdependent that any kind of real split, even without bloodshed, would result in mass starvation and eventually death. This isn't the 1860s, when clothes could be homespun and farms were all family-owned. There isn't a single business in these states that maintains its existence within a single state: everyone is dependent on other businesses in other states, and many times in other countries, to supply what he needs to function on even a basic level.

Consider then the national corporations, where so many Americans are employed, each of them necessarily based in a single state. Cut off the head, and suddenly you're left with a bunch of dead limbs — Walmart, Amazon, Applebees, Target, Tesla, Boeing, Chevrolet, etc. — companies that, in the event of a war, would immediately cease to function cross-country are oftentimes dependent on one another, and would immediately throw a hundred million out of work, if not more. And I haven't mentioned agribusiness here, or Big Pharma, or all the thousands of companies that make computer chips and innumerable widgets that none of us knows about but we're extremely dependent upon. This isn't even considering water sources and power grids, two things that have the potential to wreck life as we know it and send whole regions into anarchy and the Stone Age. Where are the power plants? The transmission lines? What are the sources of power — dams, or coal, or solar, or nuclear? Idaho Power is only one company, and it powers large parts of Oregon. Who powers the others? What do we do if credit cards won't work? And what about banks in general? How do we get gas to the gas stations — and know if they'll be able to pump gas anyway without electricity? And who will own and run the phone towers? The right-wing yahoo claims to love free enterprise so much — could he have forgotten how businesses work, and where?

What we would be talking about, assuming that any kind of civil war were to get underway, is a drastic shift in living standards that would require, upon the start of things, a strong central government, ready to provide the basic necessities and put millions of people to work immediately — a kind of government typically known as "war fascism," which is the type of government our hotheads (and especially the libertarians) are worst at, and to which at bottom they're morally opposed. So I urge them to give their "dream" up. The answer to American differences, at least for the foreseeable future, will never be civil war. And in fact, I don't believe that many right-wingers think it is. But I'm tired of the poorly thought out, unserious moralistic responses to the hotheads — who require a firm no, as all yahoos do, and not the namby-pamby suit-and-tie "violence is not the answer" non-answers they've been getting.

So take the latter route. See how the liberals crush us in everything we call silly — which is actually important. Stay armed and informed, but go into acting, writing, singing, and teaching. In other words, make a dent on the culture of the nation, and try for once to be interesting instead of just winning a bunch of arguments. Life, after all, is passed on through things as embarrassing as sex — and never through lectures.
