    Default iRacing ?

I'll admit, I haven't looked at any of this new iRacing stuff yet.
Instead I found this story about a paralyzed racing driver that can once again feel some of the thrill that racing gave him before his injuries.
He raced "sprint cars" and was injured in that type of car at one of the largest, highest paying races on the sprint car circuit. The Knoxville Nationals. That would be Knoxville Iowa.

After paralysis, Kevin Swindell fuels competitive spirit with iRacing
Winning is the foundation on which racing is built. And whenever circumstances change, there are winners and losers.
Kevin Swindell is just happy to be able to feed his competitive spirit on an equal playing field again.
Swindell was a rising star in sprint cars before an accident in Heat 2 of the 2015 Knoxville Nationals left him sidelined and partially paralyzed below the waist. He was able to stand for his December 2016 wedding, but the dexterity needed to pedal a sprint car was gone.
With his steering wheel strapped to the desk, Swindell is again one of the stars of the World of Outlaws.
On March 29 in the second round of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car iRacing Invitational on DIRTVision, Swindell took the lead on Lap 3 and held it until Lap 21. Australian Jock Goodyer won while Swindell faded to 11th, but the feel of running up front had been missing for a while.
While other sports have wrestled with what to do during the unexpected break in the action, racing almost seamlessly transitioned into the virtual world.
NASCAR quickly started the iRacing Pro Invitational Series, which has raced at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway with a field of real-life Cup drivers.
My preferred racing action. Dirt sprint cars, with or without wings. Light weight cars with a 1000HP, dancing on dirt. It's quite the show.
Dusty, dirty and loaded with down home boys ( and a few girls ) on a Saturday night. French fries at the stand and dirt in the air.

    Default Re: iRacing ?

Here is another race driver that is jumping into the iRacing. This guy has won in several different types of cars, from Indy cars to NASCAR and sports cars. Talented driver.

Juan Pablo Montoya joins World of Outlaws iRacing craze
IndyCar, Formula 1 and NASCAR star Juan Pablo Montoya will make his World of Outlaws Sprint Car series debut Wednesday. Sort of.
The winner of 15 IndyCar/CART races, seven Formula 1 races, two NASCAR Cup races and six Grand Am/IMSA races will be vying for his first Outlaws sprint car victory in Wednesday night’s Pro Invitational Series iRacing event on a virtual Knoxville Raceway.
This will mark Montoya’s first time behind the wheel of a sprint car but not his first dirt track attempt. Montoya finished 15th in the 2007 Prelude to the Dream at Eldora Speedway in a field of 26 Dirt Late Model cars.
Eldora Speedway is owned and operated by Tony Stewart of NASCAR fame. He always was into dirt cars. The Eldora Speedway also holds a prestigious race called "Kings Royal" which is a another high paying event on the circuit.
