On the eve of nominations, Hoffa running mate Rome Aloise faces corruption charges and a likely ban from the union. The Hoffa-Hall campaign has a secret plan for dealing with it. Call it Operation CYA.
Hoffa and Hall are in a bind. Despite the grotesque charges against Aloise, Hoffa and Hall plan to stand by him and deny any wrongdoing.

But, if and when Aloise gets banned from the union—and from running for office—, Hoffa and Hall don’t want to be left one candidate short on the ballot in October.

That’s where Operation CYA comes in. The plan is simple. When nominations are held, look for Hoffa-Hall to nominate an extra candidate for International Union VP.
