        Trump’s Virtues

We are still in need of the qualities of great leadership.

Many leading Republicans and conservatives want someone other than Donald Trump to run for President in 2024. But this judgment requires an assessment of Trump’s vices and virtues in the context of our current political and cultural circumstances, as well as an assessment of other prospective Republican presidential candidates. Among the talked-about alternatives to Trump, I have not yet seen anyone who possesses either his virtues or his backbone. I am not suggesting that everyone make way for Trump; rather that it is too early to throw him overboard. I regularly ask Republican politicians what they think of Donald Trump. The most frequent response is some version of, “I like his policies but don’t like the rest of him.” But this formulation gets it almost backwards. Although Trump advanced many important policies, it is the “rest of him” that contains the virtues that inspired a movement.

Trump was born for the current American crisis: the life and death struggle against the totalitarian enemy I call “woke communism.” The “woke comms” have seized every political, cultural, and economic center of power in the country from where they ruthlessly push their agenda. That agenda rests on the conviction that America is thoroughly bad (systemically racist) and must be destroyed. If there is one thing that patriotic Americans know about Trump it is that he, like them, is unequivocally pro-American and willing to fight to defend the American way of life. When Collin Kaepernick and his ilk knelt before the American flag, Trump called them “sons of bitches.” As always, he was being forceful, authentic, and unmistakably clear.

Trump stood up for America every time he violated the strictures of political correctness. Trump has said over and over exactly what political correctness prohibits one from saying: “We have our culture, it’s exceptional, and that’s the way we want to keep it.” Trump’s contempt for political correctness showed patriotic Americans that its ever-tightening grip could be loosened. As Trump and his supporters know, political correctness cripples our ability to think clearly and act decisively.

Trump said Haiti is a “shithole” and that Representative Maxine Waters has a low IQ. These were not racist lies but uncouth, politically incorrect observations that most people would agree with but not dare say. Most of us, conservatives no less than liberals, are reluctant to criticize black Americans for fear of being called a racist. Trump, on the other hand, is an equal opportunity criticizer. This is what we used to call “colorblindness.”

Trump treated the woke media with the same contempt he treated political correctness, provoking their outrage and revealing their utter corruption.

Trump made no apologies for America’s past. His unlimited confidence in America is, in this time of national doubt and self-loathing, just what the doctor ordered. Trump thinks America can vanquish all comers if we just put our mind to it and he is right.

Trump is a man of action, guided by facts and common sense. He has no use for theories. He knows that slavish devotion to theory can lead to nonsensical beliefs; for instance, that children should be able to undergo “gender conformation”; that police forces should be defunded; or that biological boys should be able to compete against girls in athletics.

Trump knows it is time to make a stand, and for that we need strong men. Weak men do anything to avoid admitting the hardest truths because they lack the resolve to do what truth demands from them. Trump is a manly man. In present times, when manhood is being stripped of its masculinity, traditional manhood, even when flawed, has much appeal.

Trump is also comfortable in his own skin, a prerequisite for independence and courage. Trump ripped apart people he thought were weak. Sometimes he went overboard, but his supporters forgave his excesses because strength is in such short supply. Trump plays to win. And he knows that in war reaching across the aisle is usually a sucker’s game

A large part of Trump’s appeal was that he is a bona fide outsider who distrusted the expert class, which comprises so much of the “swamp.” Although his own administration sometimes made it difficult for him to get done everything he promised, his supporters knew he was on their side and was trying his damnedest not to let them down. Culturally, Trump, fueled by Big Macs, understands, as does the outsourced American worker, that a cheap smartphone is not a replacement for a meaningful job and the life it supports. Trump also understands that what Americans of all races and creeds desire are stable communities, and the opportunity to raise their families in a culture that values industriousness, self-reliance, patriotism, and freedom.

Trump revealed—not “caused”—the divide in this country. He awakened the public to the dangers of woke communism and, as good leaders do, gave his supporters the breathing room to voice their discontents. This may have been his most important achievement, made possible by qualities independent of policy. You cannot win a war unless you know you are in one.

This enumeration of Trump’s virtues does not fully capture his uncommon courage and firmness of purpose. Trump is the most towering political figure in living memory. He has, like it or not, defined the politics of our age. In 2016 and 2020 he was the political leader most fit for war-like circumstances. Yes, he has vices; even so, we should pause before we move on to someone else.

If Republicans do choose another candidate, they must do so in full confidence that he will embody Trump’s virtues. If not Trump himself, his positive qualities must be the standard by which we judge other candidates.

        • Trump Takes Hillary Clinton to Court: 'Maliciously “The actions taken in furtherance of their scheme—falsifying evidence, deceiving law enforcement, and exploiting access to highly-sensitive data sources – are so outrageous, subversive and incendiary that even the events of Watergate pale in comparison.”

Former President Donald Trump is taking Hillary Clinton to court.

Trump is suing a range of Democrat politicians, operatives and federal agents for their role in creating the Russiagate hoax in 2016.

He’s seeking damages for the costs the conspiracy theory inflicted on his reputation and campaign, as well as for legal fees spent defending himself.

The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Thursday.

“Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty,” alleges Trump’s lawsuit.
“The actions taken in furtherance of their scheme—falsifying evidence, deceiving law enforcement, and exploiting access to highly-sensitive data sources – are so outrageous, subversive and incendiary that even the events of Watergate pale in comparison.”

Trump is seeking to recover $24 million dollars that he spent on legal fees to defend himself from Democratic conspiracy theories.

          • Trump Doctrine 2.0: Former president lays out plan to reverse Biden agenda

45th president says he’s not interested in House speaker's job, and knows what next president needs to do on inflation, crime, the border, Russia and China

Former President Donald Trump is laying out a 2.0 vision on how he would make America great again, again, offering Just the News his plan for defeating Joe Biden and the Democrats and reversing soaring inflation and gas prices, high crime, surging illegal immigration and global instability.

In a wide-ranging interview aired Tuesday night on the Just the News television show on Real America’s Voice, the nation's 45th president said his plan begins with recapturing GOP control of at least one chamber of Congress in November and creating a bulwark to stop the Biden agenda.

"When I watch to see what's happening, it's very, very sad. I mean, our country is being destroyed by these people,” Trump said. "The border is a disaster. We no longer respected. They don't respect our leader at all. They don't respect Biden at all.

"It's so sad to see what's happened to our great USA. But we can come back. I think these midterms are vital, just vital," he said.

"We don't have a free press. We really don't have free speech anymore. It's very bad, very dangerous. These elections are going to be absolutely critical for this country," he added.

Trump said he is growing more confident that Republicans can take back the House in the fall elections, but he considers the GOP's chances in the Senate tougher under Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

"I think the House is in great shape. I think the Senate is hurt badly by Mitch McConnell, very badly. I think he's terrible. He's also terrible for our country," said Trump, blaming the Kentucky Republican for allowing the Biden infrastructure bill to pass Congress with bipartisan support.

Not interested in the job of House Speaker

Trump threw cold water on one idea being floated by conservatives like Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who wants to nominate the former president to be House speaker if the GOP wins.

"It's not something I want," he said. "A lot of people bring it up. It's brought up all the time."

He added a second time for emphasis: "It's not something I would be interested in."

Trump offered a pointed message for defeating the Biden-version of the Democrat Party.

"They have no voter ID, defund the police, sanctuary cities, weak military, we're gonna raise your taxes, no energy independence. All things that were all done." he said. "Bad on religion. Bad on the Second Amendment. Bad on oil."

"The system is totally broken. Our system is broken. And we're going into socialism. And we're going into communism," he added.

Fighting inflation starts with energy production

"It's not something I want," he said. "A lot of people bring it up. It's brought up all the time."

"The system is totally broken. Our system is broken. And we're going into socialism. And we're going into communism," he added.

Fighting inflation starts with energy production

Trump said he believes runaway inflation, which some fear could reach 10% annualized in March, could be alleviated by quickly ramping up oil and gas production and lowering energy costs that affect everything from transportation to food production.

"We have to straighten out inflation, which we can do much easier than people know," he said, noting he had gas prices down to $1.87 a gallon at one point in his presidency.

"If energy comes down, it's so important," he said. "Other parts of inflation are coming down too. I was saying today, 'I read where food is going to make energy look like it's a good deal, that the food prices are going to go up much more very soon, much more than the energy prices.' "

Several times in the interview, he championed the cost of the Biden agenda on everyday Americans, reverting to a strategy he used often in 2016. He noted that in some places gas was nearing $5 a gallon in the Midwest "where it was never that bad" and that people go to stores and cannot find items that used to be readily available.

"Can I give you an example on the supply chain?" Trump asked. "You go to a store, they don't have bread, like a third world country. They don't have things. You go to buy something at Tiffany, you go to buy something at a hardware store – high or low – they don't have product. They say, even me, 'When I order things like furnishings for a building or something, they say it's gonna take nine months to get when it used to be like, same day service.' "

Withholding foreign aid until countries take back their illegal migrants

Trump said solving crime and border surges will require more than just securing the border like he did last time, saying many countries have released prisoners who have now migrated into the United States illegally and will need to be re-patriated.

"We have to immediately seal up the border," he said. "And we have to get a lot of the people out because many of these people came from prisons in these countries.

"It's no longer just those few countries, including Mexico that I talk about all the time. It's now like 140 countries. Some people said they didn't know there were that many. They're just flooding in. And they're almost all letting their prisoners out into the United States. Why wouldn't they? It's very expensive, keeping prisoners, and they don't want them anyway."

Trump said he learned during his first time one effective tool is to threaten to withhold foreign aid to get countries to take back criminals who migrated illegally into the U.S.

"We're taking them out by the thousands, bringing them back to their countries," he said. "Their countries said no. I said, 'That's OK. We're not going to pay the country anymore. We're not going to pay you the hundreds of millions.' Then they said, 'Yes, absolutely. We'd love to take them back."

Election integrity modeled after Florida and Texas

Trump said he believed the country could reverse declining trust in vote counting by getting states to model their election laws after those in Texas and Florida, which have mandatory voter ID, reject no-excuse absentee ballots, reject non-citizen voting and strong enforcement as a deterrence.

"Texas has a great law. Nothing's gonna happen there," he said.

"You have to swamp them, because there comes a point when they can't cheat that much. I believe that happened in Florida. That's why I did so well," he added.

Stabilizing the world, and a NATO for China

As he has stated in recent rallies, Trump re-iterated he did not believe Vladimir Putin would have invaded Ukraine if he were still president, detailing a conversation he once had with the Russian leader.

"I spoke to Putin about it," he said. "I know Putin very well. I spoke to him about a lot of things. And I spoke to him about Ukraine, because I know he wanted it. But he knew he could not do it. Not with me."

The former president said Biden's bungled exit from Afghanistan this past summer almost certainly emboldened Putin to go much further than he planned on Ukraine but that the Russian leader miscalculated the will and capabilities of the Ukrainian people.

"I think what happened, he (Putin) was on the border, he had 200,000 people, and he was negotiating. He was going to make a good deal," Trump said. "And then he saw what happened in Afghanistan. And he said, 'Man, these guys are incompetent. Let's go in.' And he didn't know the force that he'd be met with."

Asked whether he would build on the Quad alliance he launched to counter Chinese aggression during his first term and create a NATO for the Pacific, Trump suggested the current NATO might expand its mission.

"Well, I think this NATO maybe should be involved," he said of China, noting how he got NATO countries to pay up on delinquent contributions.

"I'm the best thing that ever happened to NATO, because I made them pay. So NATO has plenty of money now."

No free press, no free speech

Trump made clear he won't decide whether to run for president in 2024 until after he sees what happens in the midterm elections.

"I want to look at what's happening," he said of the midterms. "And then we're going to be doing something else."
But he made clear he views the next two elections as a litmus test for the sort of America we will live in for decades.

"We don't have a free press. We really don't have free speech anymore," he said. "It's very bad, very dangerous. These elections are going to be absolutely critical for this country."

                • Trump prevails in first major test of his influence in midterms as Vance wins Ohio Senate primary

Vance's poll numbers steadily climbed after Trump endorsed him over several other opponents.

Former President Donald Trump has prevailed in the first major test of his "kingmaker" influence in the midterm elections with J.D. Vance's victory in the Ohio Republican Senate primary.

Vance was in third place prior to Trump's endorsement, and his poll numbers steadily climbed after he gained Trump's support.

The best-selling author of "Hillbilly Elegy" and venture capitalist was running against former state Treasurer Josh Mandel, former state GOP Chair Jane Timken, investment banker Mike Gibbons, and state Sen. Matt Dolan. Vance will face Rep. Tim Ryan, who won the Democratic Ohio Senate primary on Tuesday.

Liz Harrington, a spokesperson for Trump, said endorsing Vance over the other candidates was not an easy decision for Trump.

"This was a tough decision," Harrington told Just the News on Tuesday. "You know, President Trump was watching this race for a while, but he weighs his endorsement. He wants to use it very wisely, and he saw something in J.D. that he thinks once he gets to Washington, because he will win the general election if he gets through this primary, he'll actually be a fighter for 'America First' values.

"And he's not just going to pick who's the easiest person to pick, who might be on paper the most MAGA candidate. He weighs a lot of things."

Harrington noted that Donald Trump Jr., Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk and Sen. Josh Hawley campaigned for Vance following Trump's endorsement and rally.

Trump's choice for the House seat previously occupied by Ohio GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales, who voted to impeach him, won in his race on Tuesday as well. Max Miller, the winner in Ohio's 7th Congressional District, was a White House aide under Trump.

The former president's "power base is tens of millions of disaffected voters around the country," Justin Sayfie of Ballard Partners, a Florida-based lobbying firm with connections to Trump, told the Associated Press. "No matter what happens to his endorsed candidates, I don't think it will change the conventional wisdom that he would still be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination for 2024."

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is dropping in the polls for that state's GOP Senate primary election on Aug. 2 since Trump soured on him over not acting on "instances of election fraud by individuals" mentioned in his interim report on irregularities in the 2020 presidential election. Brnovich is running for the chance to take on Arizona Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly.

"Look, these are people who had positions of authority in November 2020, and they didn't do the right thing," Harrington said. "They didn't follow through. They cowered away and hid."

Douglas Heyes, former communications director at the Republican National Committee, predicted that Republicans would take back the House "fairly easily" this November and possibly the Senate.

"Republicans in the Senate, you know, may be poised to do so as well," said Heyes, a GOP strategist, according to the Daily Mail. "But this is where candidates matter."

Harrington said Trump plans to hold many rallies for GOP candidates throughout the election cycle.

"He's going to be busy fighting for his candidates because we've got to make a real change come November," she said. "We just have to; our country's slipping away. We need strong 'America First' candidates in Washington to actually turn it around."

                  • Election Night Livewire *** Ohio, Indiana Primaries Set Tone for Future of GOP, Test Trump Endorsement Strength

Voters in Indiana and Ohio will decide who will represent them in November’s general elections in the primaries in both states on Tuesday, setting the tone in particular for the future of the Republican party and testing former President Donald Trump’s endorsement strength in a big way.

Trump has 22 endorsements on the line across both states on Tuesday, some in competitive races and others in not-so-competitive primaries. The biggest banner race of the night is the five-way GOP primary for U.S. Senate in Ohio, where Trump has endorsed author J.D. Vance–a hardcore nationalist populist–against four other candidates, three of whom sought Trump’s backing and one of whom did not. Those other candidates–Mike Gibbons, Josh Mandel, Jane Timken, and Matt Dolan–all represent different views on the future of the GOP than Trump in varying degrees, but Dolan in particular represents a major departure from Trump’s view for the party. That’s why it was particularly interesting on Tuesday morning to see Dolan’s wife and some top national leftists like Daily Kos urging Ohio Democrats to pull GOP ballots and vote for Dolan in the primary on Tuesday.

The reason Trump was not able to accomplish the task of cleaning the 'swamp',was because he had little or no support from ''BOTH'' political parties...You have to understand one thing about politicians, they do not like 'outsiders'...Trump was an outsider...He never held any public office in his life...He did not understand politics,so consequently, many people appointed by him to various positions in his administration did not like him...That POS Paul Ryan did not support him,in many cases ''they'' did everything to undermine him by failing to act on his proposals...

Police State tactics like Mar-a-Lago,like Russia-gate,and like everything else they accuse Trump of,should be deeply concerning to those of us who live in a ''Constitutional Republic''!!!!...This whole Mar-a-Lago episode is to try and intimidate Trump to not run again...Think about it,if Trump's ''HOME'' can be raided, then NO ONE is safe from the U.S. Government!!!!!

Sad part is that this will never happen in the real world.. So many teachers today shouldn't be in a class room..
