Trump says reforming Social Security and Medicare is 'the easiest of all things' as he appears open to cutting entitlement spending
President Donald Trump left the door open to overhauling Social Security and Medicare in a CNBC interview on Wednesday, calling any attempt to rein in entitlement spending "the easiest of all things."
In the interview, the president said entitlement reform could happen at the "right" moment and appeared to credit the strength of the US economy for providing momentum to shrink spending on two of the nation's biggest government programs.
"At the right time, we will take a look at that. You know, that's actually the easiest of all things, if you look," he told CNBC's Joe Kernen.
In his formal campaign announcement, Trump said: "Save Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security without cuts. Have to do it."

Trump doubles down on his promise to 'save' Social Security a day after suggesting he was open to cuts in the program

Trump sought to defend his Social Security record in a Thursday afternoon tweet, accusing Democrats of wanting to "destroy" it and pledging he would "save" it — only a day after he suggested he was open to overhauling it alongside Medicare.

Trump said: "Democrats are going to destroy your Social Security. I have totally left it alone, as promised, and will save it!"

The comments came only a day after he suggested in a CNBC interview that he was open to overhauling both social-safety-net programs, saying it was "the easiest of all things" and it would happen at the "right" moment after the election.

. The White House said later that Mr. Trump wasn’t talking about cuts in benefits but wants to address waste and “fraud” in the programs.

“President Trump is keeping his commitment to the most vulnerable Americans especially those who depend on Medicare and Social Security,” the statement said. “His budgets have proposed more savings to mandatory programs than any president in history, including lowering drug costs, eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse, and getting people off welfare and back to work.”

While the Trump camp spins out wild and delusional conspiracy theory's on everybody they perceive to be a threat, the rest of the Trump family has their hands in the government coffers.
Something else I wondered about is how Kushner ever got into the White House, along with his wife, and they have seemly taken over diplomatic duties and other interests they have no experience with ?
Strange how the entire Trump family is allowed to profit from the Presidency, but no one else should have ever been allowed to make money.

An IT company with ties to Trump's brother won a $33 million government contract, and it's reportedly drawing protests from other bidders
A government contract between the US Marshals Service and IT company CertiPath is drawing protests from other bidders because of the company's connection to President Donald Trump's brother, Robert, Joshua Partlow at The Washington Post reported.
CertiPath is a Virginia-based IT company that has been partially owned by a company connected to Robert Trump since 2013. The contract, from the US Marshals Service, is to provide security to federal courthouses and cellblocks, according to the Post.

Well here is some more anti-union news from our dear POTUS. All these "little" things you don't hear on the news that keep getting shared here and yet some people still don't get that he really is an anti-union president!

Trump’s NLRB Quietly Makes It Riskier To Wear Union Schwag at Work

The Republican-controlled National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) ended 2019 by rolling back another round of Obama-era regulations and handing down a number of pro-employer decisions. One of those rulings restricts workers from wearing union buttons and other pro-labor insignia.

The Organization United for Respect at Walmart (Our Walmart) had challenged a company policy limiting the size of union buttons for employees of the retail corporation. The group seemingly had momentum on its side. In 2017, the NLRB rejected an attempt by the fast-food chain In-N-Out Burger to prohibit its workers from wearing “Fight for $15” buttons during their shifts. The company then tried to have the case heard before the U.S. Supreme Court, citing the court’s infamous anti-union Janus ruling to argue for an expansion of corporations’ free speech rights, but the case was declined. “Today’s decision affirms that no company can just unilaterally decide to take away our right to speak out and join together in a union,” In-N-Out employee Alondra Becerra told Bloomberg Law in February of 2019. “It’s a victory for workers everywhere who are fighting to win our unions and make the economy more equal that the Supreme Court is not going to take up In-N-Out’s case.”

However, in a 3-1 decision handed down on December 16, 2019, the NLRB ruled that private sector employers covered by the NLRB are allowed to ban some union insignia. Walmart had argued that its restrictive policies “enhance the customer shopping experience and protect its merchandise from theft or vandalism.” The NLRB agreed. The decision further erodes worker rights and will make it harder for employees to openly back unionization campaigns while on the job.

Some day our POTUS may think before he speaks.
For all those service members who were injured in the Iranian missile attack, it's more then just a "headache".
Brain injuries are traumatic and damaging.
Do you think Trump will apologize or retract his statements ? No, I doubt it.

VFW calls on Trump to apologize for 'misguided remarks' on brain injuries in Iran missile attack
After the attack on two bases housing U.S. troops, Trump said there had been no casualties. But the Department of Defense later announced that 11 service members were being treated for concussions caused by blast waves from the ballistic missiles. On Friday, Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman told reporters that a total of 34 service members had been diagnosed with concussions and traumatic brain injuries.
Trump downplayed the severity of the troops' injuries, saying, "I heard that they had headaches, and a couple of other things, but I would say, and I can report, it's not very serious."
Now word is that 50 injuries have been reported.
Any word from the White House ? Or from Trump ?

50 service members diagnosed with TBI following Iran ballistic missile attack
Fifty service members have now been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, or TBI following a Jan. 8 ballistic missile attack by Iran that struck two Iraqi bases housing coalition troops, the Pentagon announced Tuesday.
The Pentagon said those figures could increase in the days ahead. Lt. Col. Thomas Campbell, a Pentagon spokesman, said 31 of the 50 service members diagnosed with TBI were treated in Iraq and returned to duty.
Eighteen service members have thus far been transported to Germany for further evaluation, Campbell said.
The Pentagon had initially reported zero casualties following Iran’s retaliatory missile attack following the U.S. decapitation strike that killed Iranian Quds Force commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
The problem with this administration and everyone involved is a lack of truth.

Trump Attacks Federal Workers; EPA Under ‘Systemic’ Threat
WASHINGTON—The Trump administration has declared war on Environmental Protection Agency workers, says the head of the union representing some 7,000 of them.

“In my 37 years of federal experience, I’ve never seen such an unprecedented attack on federal workers,” says Gary Morton, president of American Federation of Government Employees Council 238. “It’s a systematic plan to eliminate EPA or dilute it until it’s ineffective.”

The fronts in this war are both the agency’s work and its workers, Morton says. EPA workers can no longer do research on climate change, and interference by political appointees has drastically increased. Meanwhile, the number of employees has fallen from 18,000 during the Obama administration to below 13,000, and, as at other federal agencies, management has tried to impose rules that weaken the union and make it easier to fire workers.
“The whole idea is to kill the union,” McQuiston says. “The unions are the only obstacle they have to a much larger agenda.”

That agenda includes privatization—particularly at the Veterans Administration—and weakening government accountability, she explains. Without the protection of a union, it would become very easy to retaliate against whistleblowers or critics of a policy.

This is the cult of Trump. Obviously they don't know about trash, other then what they do in their own home. I also wonder of the Trump team will pay the bill since they have been known to stiff local communities. The taxpayers and residents of this little shore town must pay for Police services, trash and waste removal and the other destruction placed upon this town. Except for directly on the lot of the convention center. Let's hope they got paid in advance.
Click the link to view pictures of the waste and trash left by the pigs.

Beach chairs, blankets and trash. Massive mess left after Trump's Wildwood rally.
The thousands of people who descended upon the Jersey Shore town for President Donald Trump's 'Keep America Great' rally at the Wildwoods Convention Center left behind a sea of trash in the parking lot — including their abandoned beach chairs and blankets — after the rally wrapped up.
Rally-goers were allowed to bring chairs as they waited in line — some for up to 48 hours before the event — but they weren't allowed to bring them inside the venue.
Factor in the blankets they used to stay warm, and all their drinks and food they were snacking on during the long wait in the parking lot and the convention center ends up with a parking lot full of trash to deal with Wednesday morning.
City officials said the park cleanup was the responsibility of Wildwood, while the parking lot mess was the responsibility of the convention center, which Wildwood city does not manage.
Mayor Pete Byron on Tuesday said he wasn't invited to the rally after he told NJ Advance Media he would be seeking reimbursement from the local Republican party. He had instructed all city workers to keep detailed logs of hours and expenses related to the rally.
                            https://www.nj.com/news/j66j-2020/01...ood-rally.html

Of course the claim of "thousands" of people who were waiting to see the orange dumpster himself is another overblown claim. Usual for most of his rallies.

Trump said ‘tens of thousands’ were outside his N.J. rally in Wildwood
There was a big crowd in Wildwood on Tuesday night, just not as big as President Donald Trump claimed at his rally.
“We have tens of thousands of people outside.” Trump told those inside the Wildwoods Convention Center.
NJ Advance Media reporters outside the convention center estimated several thousand watching a video screen at Fox Park and another few thousand at the video screen closer to the entrance.
Officials said previously that the convention center had room for 7,400 for the president’s rally. And inside, the arena was packed.
Nancy Nicholls of Cranford didn’t get in, despite arriving at 8 a.m.
She recounted a disorganized scene, with overflowing portable toilets and lots of trash.
“We got no information about things," Nicholls said.
Linda Badie of West Wildwood arrived at noon and said she encountered a hectic scene. She said she saw a fist-fights, almost got knocked over at one point and that people were pushing past the line in an effort to get inside.
“It’s the worst organized thing in the world,” Badie said.

Leaked audio reveals that Trump didn't know semitrucks run on diesel — yet the industry is among Trump's most ardent supporters

A leaked audio recording of a 2018 dinner with... Donald Trump...

...The president's knowledge of trucking is less than comprehensive.

Another attendee, according to The Times, was Wayne Hoovestol, who owns several trucking companies in the Midwest, including Eagle Express Lines. According to Transport Topics, Eagle Express had revenue of more than $450 million in 2018 and was the second-largest carrier of US Postal Service mail.

In the recording, after a short conversation about Tesla and electric passenger trucks, someone identifying themselves as a trucking executive who had worked with the USPS begins talking about the challenges with fueling semitrucks. Here's the conversation that followed:

Trump: What do you mean trucks? What do you do? Where did you say you work at?

Trucking executive: Our main thing we do, we haul mail for the Postal Service.

Trump: Oh I see. So you know the difference, right? You have every kind. Is there anything like gasoline?

Trucking executive: Nope. Well, diesel is trucking.

Trump: How is diesel compared to regular gasoline?

Trucking executive: Well, diesel in a semi — you can't run gasoline in a semi.

                              Unidentified voice: Right, big tractors.

Trump: Why can't you? Just not as strong?

Trucking executive: It doesn't have the BTUs that diesel has.

Other people then talked with Trump about other major issues in the industry, including the truck-driver shortage and the implementation of electronic logging devices.

Trump also appeared unaware that truck drivers have safety regulations that prevent them from driving more than 11 hours a day.

"You mean they can only drive so much?" Trump said in the recording. "Like a pilot? I didn't know that."

Trucking executives and industry experts who listened to the tape told Business Insider they were astonished by Trump's ignorance.

They said they were doubtful that the president would not have been told about many of the basic points covered in the 10-minute conversation. The gaps in Trump's knowledge — including his ignorance that 18-wheelers run on diesel, not gasoline — contrast with his interactions with the trucking industry.
