I don't think any of the politicians know much about trucks. Alot of NYC people don't even have cars. Too much trouble to park and costs a fortune to park. Trump has probably had a chauffeur for a long time.

January 30, 2020 - New York, NY: The Trump Plan is not a peace plan, but a cynical ploy which is likely to advance Israel's far right's annexation agenda and to bolster the election prospects of President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The Jewish Labor Committee has for decades supported a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And we understand that only a negotiated, mutually agreed-upon accord can be the basis for a meaningful, fair and just resolution of this decades-long conflict.

The plan released earlier this week by the Trump Administration is a heavy-handed attempt to bypass, rather than to resolve, this complicated conflict. We join the growing and diverse chorus of organizations, politicians and others who see in Trump’s plan nothing of real value, and the likelihood that it will make an equitable and mutually-acceptable solution less possible.

Timing is everything: this is not a peace plan, but a cynical attempt to deflect attention from both the current impeachment trial against President Donald Trump, and the legal and political troubles of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Trump Plan, not a serious proposal, runs counter to the real political and security needs of both Israel and the Palestinians, the two parties to the conflict. The JLC joins the many supporters of Israel who have studied the conflict and have worked for a peaceful resolution for decades in condemning the plan in the strongest terms.

The Trump administration announced Friday that it was officially rolling back restrictions on the U.S. military's ability to use landmines.

"In case you didn't know, because they're from one of the most draconian chapters of 20th century, the victims of landmines are mostly innocent civilians and especially children," said immigration attorney Curtis Morrison.

The decision, which Common Dreams reported about on Thursday, reverses a 2014 order by former President Barack Obama that constrained the weapons' use to the Korean Peninsula and committed the U.S. to no further production of the mines. The Obama-era order put the U.S. further in line with the over 160 nations that have ratified the Mine Ban Treaty.

A Pentagon policy, a statement from the White House says, "will authorize combatant commanders, in exceptional circumstances, to employ advanced, non-persistent landmines specifically designed to reduce unintended harm to civilians and partner forces."

"This action," the statement added, "is yet another in a series of actions taken by the Trump administration to give our military the flexibility and capability it needs to win."

A Pentagon memo issued Friday says that the military "will take feasible precautions to protect civilians from the use of landmines." It also suggests the weapons can be used anywhere the U.S. military chooses.

As for polls, we all know what has been said previously about polls and their numbers.

Of course there are always two sides to every story, and two polls.
Seems Trump's disapproval has been consistently higher then any approval.

Seems the EU has condemned Trump's decision about land mines. They should know since their continent was used as a dumping ground for mines that disfigure and killed thousands.

EU condemns U.S. decision to end ban on anti-personnel land mines

U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to relax restrictions on the U.S. military’s use of anti-personnel land mines was “completely unacceptable”, the European Union said on Tuesday in a rare formal criticism of Washington.
In a statement, the EU said the ban on such mines had “saved tens of thousands of people in the past twenty years ... Their use anywhere, anytime, and by any actor remains completely unacceptable to the European Union.”
Trump lifted the ban, implemented under the Obama administration on military use of the land mines outside of the Korean Peninsula, breaking with countries including NATO allies Britain and France, who have banned the weapons’ use.
