Once again I have to ask, did this administration ever know what they were doing ?

THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY BLOCKED DISCLOSURE OF TRADE DATA, HELPING CONCEAL THE AIRLIFT OF N95 MASKS FROM THE U.S. TO CHINA
IN THE FIRST months of the Covid-19 outbreak — when U.S. hospitals faced a critical shortage of protective gear and exposed front-line medical workers to needless risk — hundreds of tons of medical face masks were loaded onto planes at U.S. airports and flown to China and other destinations for foreign buyers.

While the masks were shipped abroad, the U.S. government failed to address the growing crisis, leaving states to scramble to obtain medical gear as third-party distributors hiked prices and began selling what turned out to be defective masks. While the Trump administration moved slowly to secure needed supplies, some in the Commerce Department even encouraged the export of masks as the disease spread.

The full scale and scope of what happened — including the types of masks shipped, prices, and the destinations for the shipments — are still shrouded in mystery. That’s because detailed disclosures of the airlifts are hidden from public view by the federal government. U.S. Customs and Border Protection only allows public disclosure of detailed cargo data for shipments sent and received by sea, not by air. And almost every crate of face masks destined for foreign markets went by air freight, concealing the full picture of the flow of masks from public view.

Yup!! results are in and guess who was right.. Same drug the haters in the media and some on here said didn't work..

Hydroxychloroquine helped save coronavirus patients, study shows; Trump campaign hails 'fantastic news'

        https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hyd...onavirus-study

The study, published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, determined that hydroxychloroquine provided a "66% hazard ratio reduction," and hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin a 71 percent reduction, compared to neither treatment.

In-hospital mortality was 18.1 percent overall; 13.5 percent with just hydroxychloroquine, 22.4 percent with azithromycin alone, and 26.4 percent with neither drug. "Prospective trials are needed" for further review, the researchers note, even as they concluded: "In this multi-hospital assessment, when controlling for COVID-19 risk factors, treatment with hydroxychloroquine alone and in combination with azithromycin was associated with reduction in COVID-19 associated mortality."

"Our results do differ from some other studies," Dr. Marcus Zervos, who heads the hospital's infectious diseases unit, said at a news conference. "What we think was important in ours ... is that patients were treated early. For hydroxychloroquine to have a benefit, it needs to begin before the patients begin to suffer some of the severe immune reactions that patients can have with COVID."

Seems the FDA has dire warnings for those thinking of taking hydroxychloroquine. This is a drug that requires monitoring and careful administration. Touting it's use by an advising people to use something that may harm them is reckless. Sounds like the same person that recommends hydroxychloroquine also recommends injecting patients with disinfectants and exposing an ultraviolet light source into your body. Maybe they should stop testing too. That way the virus will just disappear.

FDA cautions against use of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for COVID-19 outside of the hospital setting or a clinical trial due to risk of heart rhythm problems
July 1, 2020 Update: A summary of the FDA review of safety issues with the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat hospitalized patients with COVID-19 is now available. This includes reports of serious heart rhythm problems and other safety issues, including blood and lymph system disorders, kidney injuries, and liver problems and failure.

The FDA and Dr Fauci seem to be in bed together.. What drug are they pushing?? Remdesivir ..One that costs like $3000.. Some get it,some don't..

I sure hate to see the day when Trump says coffee is good for you.. We will all be buying it on the black market..

Again from the link on post 1098

Researchers at the Henry Ford Health System in Southeast Michigan have found that early administration of the drug hydroxychloroquine makes hospitalized patients substantially less likely to die.
Just maybe the FDA and Dr Fauci need to look into this a bit more..

It seems the government ( this administration ) is claiming to have bought the worlds supply of Remdesivir. The claim is on the HHS web site, not the CDC, NIH or the FDA's web sites.
I think I might be wondering how the government decided to "buy" a supply of a drug that isn't exactly proven over a long term trial ?
Perhaps the idea of calming fears and attempting to sway thoughts this virus is controlled ? It's not.

Remember two things. This will blow away ... and if you want a test you can get a test.

Confirmed cases almost 3 million. Confirmed deaths over 132,000. Today we watch as the rate of infection climbs once again. A failed response from a failure of leadership.

Trump Administration Secures New Supplies of Remdesivir for the United States
“President Trump has struck an amazing deal to ensure Americans have access to the first authorized therapeutic for COVID-19,” said HHS Secretary Alex Azar. “To the extent possible, we want to ensure that any American patient who needs remdesivir can get it. The Trump Administration is doing everything in our power to learn more about life-saving therapeutics for COVID-19 and secure access to these options for the American people.”

Isn't this the drug that was being pushed by Fauci?? The "expert" that everyone told Trump to listen to?? Sadly he did and Fauci made many mistakes but in some eyes it is all Trumps fault...IMO any drug that helps should be used ...What works for you might not work for me.. All options should be used..

                  Pushed by ?
Like Trump claimed taking hydroxychloroquine or perhaps some disinfectant might help anyone with the virus ? Seems the dedicated followers sure believe whatever Trump says.
Fauci follows medical guidelines and protocol. He didn't invent, nor does he stand to profit from Remdesivir. That drug was invented by Gilead Sciences in 2009.
Maybe politicians that listen to lobbyists could have influenced Trump. Either way, I always thought Trump was his own man and made all the decisions ? Unless it's the wrong decision, then there is always somebody else to blame.

Let us all remember. If you don't follow what Trump wants, then you get fired or replaced. If Trump had listened to the experts, the country may not be seeing the spread of the virus like it is now. Increased cases and deaths because someone wanted to "open" the country before it was safe. A leader usually leads by example. The failure to wear a mask and tell the public to do the same, is in effect, a failure of leadership, IMO.

Nah, the blame goes to the man that claims to know more about anything than anyone. We've all heard his claims that he really understands this stuff because....Blah, Blah, Blah.

There are plenty of people that know Trump dropped the ball on the virus. From the early days of "it will blow away" to “you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.” What could be anymore of a dereliction of duty then to dismiss a pandemic that has killed 130,000 people so far ?

Trump's response to coronavirus has been a disaster, and Americans have noticed
From basically ignoring the coronavirus for the first two months to dismissing masks, President Donald Trump has repeatedly mishandled the ongoing pandemic. And yet, he is very vocal about wanting to end lockdowns as soon as possible, even tweeting, "SCHOOLS MUST OPEN IN THE FALL!!" this week, despite cases surging across the country. Now, a poll says that Americans trust their governors over Trump on the coronavirus.
A new poll from NBC News and Survey Monkey Weekly surveyed around 44,500 people. It found that 55 percent of respondents disapproved of Trump's handling of the pandemic while 43 percent approved. By itself, that's not a huge difference. But, what's interesting is 70 percent of respondents said they trusted their governors to make decisions about when to reopen more than Trump.
As the United States approaches 3 million confirmed coronavirus cases — including a new daily record set last week —, Trump is blaming increasing numbers on testing. And last month, the administration began making moves to close federally funded testing sites.
