Isn't Louisiana a red state? Maybe the state should have had some stricter covid regulations in place to combat the spread of the virus. I don't know what kind of lock down regulation the governor of Louisiana had in place. This may be a dumb question but wouldn't the covid vaccine shots, wearing masks and social distancing be more cost efficient than $250,000 in individual reparations?

Red state or not... it's covid regulations come from the governor just like with every other state and if you want to go with the red state... blue state ideology of things... the governor is John Edwards... a democrat. Personally... I don't believe masks protect very much if at all but to each his own and I also don't believe stricter covid regulations play a big part in it's spread one way or the other because most people will do as they please and most that do wear masks... wear them improperly. Like the lady at a Subway I went to who told me that I had to wear a mask if I wanted to be served so I got a mask... went back and lo and behold... all the employees there had their noses uncovered. They sure didn't like it when I told them that if I had to wear a mask.... they were going to have to wear theirs properly. They complied but I got some evil stares and you bet your ass I watched closely while they were making my sub... lol

AS for Louisiana's spread of the virus... it's quite small compared to the rest of the country... as a matter of fact... it's ranks 45th on the list of cases per 100,000 in the last seven days...

And the reason I posted that article was to show everyone just how absurd I thought it was because like Crazy said... a bunch of money can't buy your way out of the virus... it's not selective when it comes to rich and poor like that article implies. Hell... look at Trump... rich and was considered by many as the most powerful person in the country contracted it. That virus didn't care one iota how much money and influence he had.

Report: W.H.O. Admits China Did ‘Little’ to Investigate Origins of the Coronavirus

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) concluded Chinese officials did “little” to investigate the origins of the Wuhan coronavirus and were uncooperative with international investigators during the first eight months of the pandemic, according to an internal document written in August which the UK Guardian made public on Tuesday.

The document viewed by the Guardian was the executive summary of a travel report prepared by a W.H.O. team that met with Chinese officials last summer.
“Following extensive discussions with and presentation from Chinese counterparts, it appears that little had been done in terms of epidemiological investigations around Wuhan since January 2020. The data presented orally gave a few more details than what was presented at the emergency committee meetings in January 2020. No PowerPoint presentations were made and no documents were shared,” the report said of those meetings, which lasted ten days.

The tenor of this internal document was quite different than what W.H.O. officials were saying in public at the time, as the Guardian pointed out. W.H.O. representatives generally described the Chinese as cooperative and referred to ongoing investigations in China that apparently were not actually happening.

The recently concluded W.H.O. visit to Wuhan, China, has also been controversial, with some team members reporting the Chinese inexplicably withheld valuable raw data, while others say they were satisfied with the information they were given. The Chinese furnished some analysis of the Chinese coronavirus’s origins to the W.H.O. investigators but refused to present the data and samples they employed in their studies. The document obtained by the Guardian states that as of August 2020, the Chinese were not doing much to trace the coronavirus, which makes the value of the analysis they gave to W.H.O. investigators in early February even more questionable.

W.H.O. gave a statement to the Guardian that tepidly admitted China’s efforts to trace the origins of the coronavirus were subpar and inconsistent with W.H.O.’s practices:

“In July 2020, [the] WHO was invited by the Chinese government to send a preliminary team to China to prepare for the work of the team of international scientists. The joint team of Chinese and international scientists began virtual meetings in the autumn of 2020.”

The WHO spokesperson added: “They visited Wuhan in January-February 2021. In the early days of an outbreak, the absolute priority is to save lives, understand the disease and suppress the transmission. But we also believe that the work to understand the origin of any outbreak should start early, when certain clues can be found more easily.”

In future, the spokesperson said, conducting studies into the origins of a disease should happen in parallel with urgently suppressing a virus and saving lives.
The Biden administration has been surprisingly critical of the W.H.O. mission to Wuhan, strongly implying the investigation was not sufficiently “credible, open, and transparent.”

“They’re about to come out with a report about the origins of the pandemic in Wuhan, China, that we have questions about because we do not believe that China has made available sufficient original data into how this pandemic began to spread both in China and eventually around the world,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday.

Never mind that lockdowns have destroyed many thousands of businesses, ruined and ended lives, and further torn the social fabric. It’s all good, according to the WEF.

My, the WEF would then love a disease that wiped out virtually all of humanity, à la The Last Man on Earth or its remake The Omega Man.

Ironically, too, the WEF video opens with a deserted-streets scene quite reminiscent of the latter flick.

Continuing its rapid post-COVID economic recovery, it has been revealed that China created more billionaires in 2020 than the rest of the world combined.

According to the Hurun Global Rich List, 259 billionaires broke into the exclusive club, meaning China now boasts a total of 1,058 billionaires and is the first country in the world to break the 1,000 level.

In comparison, the United States created 70 new billionaires in 2020, although people who were already billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates saw their profits surge during the pandemic.

In reality, China ended up posting even better numbers for 2020 with a 2.3% GDP rise, the only major economy in the world to grow at all last year.

I can't understand how they can think they can do this and oppose abortion.
To use something abortion was used to test or create or be used in......to save your life.....is hypocracy.
To believe abortion is wrong and do this....defeats arguments against it...What are these Bishops thinking? Where is their head? You don't abandon principle even to save your life......do they not teach of martyrs? Martyrs did not give in. They sacrificed their lives......no faith.
What is the hurry? Cannot we wait for a vaccine which is made with no association to abortion whatsoever?

China Urges W.H.O. to Let It Run Global ‘Vaccine Passport’ System

Chinese Communist Party “experts” urged the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) on Tuesday to let China build and run a global database for “vaccine passports” documenting if every person on earth has received a Chinese coronavirus vaccine.

The Communist Party launched its domestic “vaccine passport” system Wednesday, despite W.H.O. officials urging countries not to implement such a system due to unequal access to vaccines and the variety in the quality of the available offerings around the world. The “vaccine passport” — A digital certification that confirms a person has received a coronavirus vaccination — joins China’s larger “social credit system,” which judges every citizen and awards them numerical “scores” based on how much the Party approves of their behavior. The behavior judged can vary from littering and volunteering, which result in respectively lower or higher social credit scores, to the display of public opinions either in favor or against the Communist Party.

China’s social credit system has prevented millions of citizens from traveling through banning them from purchasing airplane, train, or public transportation tickets. China is similarly limiting citizens who do not receive a vaccine against the Chinese coronavirus from widespread travel.

China’s Global Times, a state-run propaganda newspaper, proposed Tuesday that the Communist Party could build an international “vaccine passport” surveillance system in a week through its large technology companies. The proposal appeared to be a response to the W.H.O. explicitly discouraging countries from creating such a system.

“Chinese experts noted on Tuesday that China can help by sharing its experience with and provide technical support to the WHO to organize the issue,” the Times reported, “as China is the most experienced country in using a health code system in the world while the WHO is the most proper organizer for the matter to ensure independence, fairness and data security.”

The regime-approved “experts” cited in the article argued that, since China has been conducting mass surveillance of its citizens, violating their human rights, for years, expanding that system to the rest of the world would not present a major technological challenge.

“In terms of technology, I believe that Chinese companies can build an international platform in just one week,” one of those experts, the head of a Chinese organization identified as the “Information Consumption Alliance,” claimed. “The WHO can draft the rules, procedures and data format. China is very willing to provide support in sharing experience and techniques in setting up such a platform as the country has rich experience in this.”

China’s participation in a global health surveillance program would “guarantee public trust,” the newspaper insisted.

The Global Times did not express significant confidence in the possibility of the W.H.O. agreeing to such a deal, though the U.N. health body has stood accused repeatedly throughout the pandemic of allowing China to dictate how it responds to the virus, including spreading disinformation claiming the highly contagious virus was not transmissible from person to person. Instead, the newspaper cited other Chinese government observers who suggested that, rather than wait for the W.H.O., China should pressure other countries into bilateral vaccine passport agreements. The agreements would hypothetically lift travel restrictions between China and the agreeing country for individuals who can show documentation proving they have received a coronavirus vaccination.

Finding out for sure my son has the Chinese coronavirus.. Had a fever last Saturday and went to a friend's house who had some of those quick covid tests and tested positive.. The fever broke overnight but wanted to get a lab test and he found out this morning he did indeed test positive.. Hasn't had any symptoms since Saturday so we assume the worst for him has passed but again we are in quarantine .. Both my wife and I are staying away from him and when he does come out of his room he wipes everything he touched.. And wears his mask ..Now he thinks he got it from someone on his job who also tested positive over the weekend .. Now they both wear their masks all day long.. So if masks work then how did they get it??
