I think what I was trying to get to is that socialized medicine is not always the best.. Death rates in Europe prove that..

Almost every free healthcare European country has more deaths per million than the US.. So is Free healthcare better than pay for healthcare?? I will take the system we have now..

My question is, knowing that the largest hospitals have buku credit and that they have been probably spending tens to hundreds of millions per year buying every medical buildings and practice under the sun and building on new properies they have bought.....due to them being almost guarenteed payments thru Obamacare and legislations for illegal immigrants......since they have so much money or credit AND that it IS privately owned hospitals.................how much were they expected to be responsible for if they know how many people are in there areas and what they may need in a medical emergency?
Why are they not asked as to why they were unprepared?
Why did they not have masks and gowns and very expensive ventilators and respirators if it is a business of profit and a business to serve the people. Why was not some Obamacare profits used to prepare instead of buying up all smaller hospitals and practices? Why is it socialist for this....yet capitalist for the hospital investors and board members? Why so much government help necessary and so many tax dollars.

I'm not a huge fan of socialism. Because like we see.....some benefit greatly...while others not so much.
Again....they are all doing the absolute heroes best they can.
But why all the blame on government when it is private hospitals? Boards and execs and investors...not workers is my question.

It's always about the money.. We have a "NON" profit hospital here that is part of a larger NON" profit system.. Why does the CEO of a "NON"profit hospital get a million dollar paycheck while asking for volunteers to help at his hospital?
It's always been about the dollar and unfortunately it always will be..

Unlike the Hasidic jewish community here in Orange County NY.. Weddings and funerals and the Governor {CUOMO}wont stop them other than to say they will be fined.. Truth is the police rarely go into their community..

There has been a lot said on here that Trump was not doing enough to stop the virus.. Then another post about flights from China.. Here is an article about a New York Times article that states Trumps travel restrictions stopped nearly 95% of travel from China..

                https://www.mrctv.org/blog/nyt-study...d8k0ejxjrGEuJU

A study published by the New York Times Saturday stated that close to 450,000 people had travelled to the United States from China since the disclosure of the novel coronavirus by the Chinese government at the beginning of 2020. However, of the 430,000 travellers, roughly only 40,000 had arrived in the months after President Trump’s decision to impose strict travel restrictions on Chinese flights, a 95% drop in arrivals.

According to the study, its numbers were based on an analysis of a collection of data from both the U.S. and China.

“Trump administration officials have also said they received significant pushback about imposing the restrictions even when they did. At the time, the World Health Organization was not recommending travel restrictions, Chinese officials rebuffed them, and some scientists questioned whether curtailing travel would do any good. Some Democrats in Congress said they could lead to discrimination.”

Exactly Slave, your making my argument for me...WHY so much government necessary with our tax dollars when ''Free Market'' private hospitals OWN and OPERATE healthcare?...WHY?...2 WORDS...''FOR PROFIT''...That's all that matters Slave,to the Boards and Execs and Investors that you mentioned...They could care less about the health of you and your family...You actually think they're in business to SERVE the people?...Are you serious with your question about why no masks, gowns,'expensive ventilators',and respirators?...''PROFITS'' Slave,''PROFITS'',medical supplies and ALL the necessary equipment would CUT into their $Millions of Dollars Corporate ''PROFITS''...I just posted this article Slave, too bad you didn't even bother to glance at it...Let these ''FRONTLINE'' Healthcare Workers explain it to you!!!!!!!

It ought to fill every single one of us with RAGE that our Doctors and Nurses and ALL Healthcare Workers are scrounging for masks and other medical supplies and that a government agency like the CDC is recommending improvised masks...The shortage of supplies is directly the result of a capitalistic system so 'unregulated' that it is designed to benefit ''ONLY'' Corporate executives and shareholders, not societies...

States in the US are now desperately competing with one another to BUY the much needed supplies...Different news outlets interviewed state authorities and hospital managers and found a broadly dysfunctional system across the US,with hospitals and health authorities having FEW options but to rely on largely 'unknown' middlemen whose PRIORITY is PROFIT as they promise to quickly replenish the nation's depleted medical supplies...And there it is...Dog-eat-Dog Free Market Capitalism at it's finest

I wish I could read every link sometimes but I go on more than one site and it gets to be alot of stuff to read when I should curb my internet time.

But still, in them links is the admission that our for-profit hospitals seem to totally rely on the government's to get their supplies.

This does not fit the GOP stance that hospitals and health insurance are FOR-PROFIT businesses and should exist for profits only.

If that would be reality. Then government should not be a necessity nor be involved at all in making sure anything at all is available for these businesses.
They expect the supplies. Then the government pays the bills for the covid 19 patients.
So they receive both product and customer payment from the government......and the government gets blamed for not being prepared or providing quickly.

Why are not these for-profit hospitals not viewing the world so they know when a a pandemic is on the way?
Why do they not all have a guy like Fauchi working for each of them......

It is their business, not the governments, correct?

Since masks are hard to come by, I was delivering next to a Dollar Tree the other day and ran in. Asked if they have bandanas and the girl walked into the store room and got me a 2 pack for $1. She said it's our only ones. I said thanks.
Younger I would've thought that's great but I'm not young anymore. So not into bandanas.
Anyways. We have a corner convenience store here. Very nice family from India own it. Used to be a 7/11.
I was in there the other day asking if they have anything. A little girl colorful scarf was it. But he said later this week he will have masks and gloves and hand soap.
Yesterday I went in and they came in. Not the heavy duty medical mask N whatever, but he got a case of masks. He asked how many and I got 10 to work with. 1 a day will work because I get dirty.

They take this really serious since the outset.
They've been wearing masks and gloves and have a huge sheet of plastic hung across their counter with a cutout to hand cigarettes and money thru.
                        Nice people.

I am getting pretty upset with people here. Way too many not taking it seriously and as of yesterday the number of positive tests jumped. I have a local news station on my fb KOB, and everyday they post the new stats. Always several idiots bitching about their constitutional rights in the comments. What is it going to take to get people to take this seriously??? Our governor just laid down more restrictions a few days ago and all have been extended to the end of the month. One was now closing liquor stores. I thought they already were and you should hear all the complaining. Get your booze at the grocery store!

Doom and Gloom in the forecast.. This one from the so called architect of Obamacare..Lock down for 18 months?? I couldn't imagine just how many babies would be born..

                                https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bid...last-18-months

Dr. Zeke Emanuel, an adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on the coronavirus, said this week that Americans could be dealing with strict social distancing measures to combat the coronavirus for 18 months and that the U.S. "will not be able to return to normalcy until we find a vaccine or effective medications."

Emanuel, one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, is on the Biden campaign's "Public Health Advisory Committee," which is set up to "provide science-based, expert advice regarding steps the campaign should take to minimize health risks for the candidate, staff, and supporters," according to a March press release.

His comments are partially consistent with statements from the Trump administration's medical advisors and federal government documents on the pandemic. But they seem to paint a more grim picture of the country's ability to roll back shutdowns of businesses and public life in general that are aimed at reducing the spread of the virus, which causes the disease known as COVID-19.
